Music Menu: Fabolous ft. Ryan Leslie-Fabolous Life & Mario-Human Nature

Here is new music from Fabolous featuring Ryan Leslie titled "Fabolous Life". This track will appear on Fab's album Loso's Way due in stores July 28th.

>>Listen to: Mario-*Human Nature (Michael Jackson cover song)*<<

The MJ tributes continue to pour in. Mario performs a live cover of Michael Jackson's hit "Human Nature".

And while we are on the subject of Michael Jackson I have to say that I am very disappointed and disgusted with the media's unempathetic blood thirst for hits using Michael's death as a circus. Every dog has their day and I will be first in line with a bucket of popcorn with extra butter when their empires come tumbling down due to their negative Karma *woooo saaaa*. They were the reason why people forgot how influential and amazing Michael was in the first place with their homemade rumors.

The fact still remains that for one entire day the world was united to celebrate a legend and as much as that must burn the nay sayer's that are trying adamantly to ruin his reputation, you can not change facts and what is. [end of rant]

Music Menu: Ryan Leslie-You're Not My Girl

Here is new music from Ryan Leslie titled "You're Not My Girl". This is the official first single off of his second album Transition due in stores this fall.

I am impressed with Ryan's work ethic. He just released his first album Ryan Leslie earlier this year and instead of taking a breather and basking in the success of the album he went right back in the studio to whip up a new batch of good music.

The song is very techno and up-tempo. It will have to grow on me but so did "Diamond Girl". I look forward to what he release in the coming months.

Music Rumors: Ryan Leslie is working on a new album with....

Chris Brown. Rumor has it, Ryan Leslie has just confirmed that he will be heading into the studio with Chris to work on his[Chris'] new album this week. In addition to working with Chris, Ryan also tweeted that he will be working on Alicia Keys and my girl Jazmine Sullivan's new albums as well.

Looks like Ryan's schedule will be booked this year and might get him a load of Grammy nods next year.

Yummy Quote: Ryan Leslie says....

In reference to Cassie's topless quick pic....

"...had nothing to do with the recent photo scandal. Would never violate anyone's right to privacy."

Didn't know you were a suspect Ryan.... but now that you mention it, you would have motive to do a sneaky act like that now wouldn't you? Hmmm....naaaaa....

Music Menu: Ryan Leslie-Gonna Let This Luv

>>*Ryan Leslie-Gonna Let This Luv*<<

Check out unreleased music from Ryan Leslie titled "Gonna Let This Luv". It has a very nice beat and bounce to it but I can see why this was left off the album. Ryan's debut album is the ish, I promise it is worth a purchase.

*New* Analyze This: Is Ryan's album dedicated to Cassie?

I have been bumping Ryan Leslie's new self-titled album hard body morning, noon, and night. My favorites are "Quicksand", "Addicted", "How It Was Supposed To be", "Shouldn't Have To Wait", and of course "Gibberish". But as I listen, I just can't help but to think that the songs sound a little too personal, like it hits a little too close to home for Ryan.

It's no secret whether they want to admit it or not, Ryan and Cassie had a thing together and it wasn't just music. You could tell from the pics they took together and their demeanor's towards each other in public. But then for some strange reason, you started seeing them apart and Cassie was seen in Diddy's arms a little more than Ryan's. Rumors started circulating around that Cassie was f*cking for tracks (which I found to be ludicrous) because she jumped from one producer to the next (this time the other producer had more bank and status than the other..coincidence?)

Then recently the truth came peeking through in the form of Ryan's interview on the Angie Martinez show in which he asked Cassie personally to call him. Why? Oh because he's been calling her and texting her and getting absolutely no response...guess she was too busy.

Every last song on the album seems to be about this mysterious person that either did Ryan wrong, told him that she would wait for him, or totally just stepped out of his life. Yes I know, it's R&B and every crooner whether they be male or female tend to talk about love and love lost.

Look at Beyonce, she claims she's never even been in a relationship before Jay-Z ~snickers~ to know what it feels like to have her heart broken; but in Ryan's case, given the relevance in time and the way he poured his heart out on the album plus the fact that he brought her up during his interview leads me to believe that Ryan Leslie's album is dedicated to Cassie...that is so sweet. Who knows, I could be looking too deep into it.

M.Y. Song Of The Week: Ryan Leslie-Gibberish

This week's song of the week is brought to us by songwriter/artist/producer Ryan Leslie with his song Gibberish.

This song is very different from other songs in the sense that it has no lyrics and it is off of his self-titled album in stores now. It is mainly a whole lot of rifts on a track but it sounds so good.

Gibberish - Ryan Leslie

I'm a lyric loving music fanatic but this song does it for me. I play it practically every morning. And whats great about it, is the fact that he does it on purpose and not just by chance as appose to another songwriting artists (rhymes with Cream) that we never understand.

I really, really want to see Ryan do a song with Mary J. Blige or even Neyo...can y'all make this happen?!

M.Y. Bulk Leaked Music: The Dream + Ryan + J Holiday

Here is a leaked track from The Dream entitled "What's Wrong With U" which according to the track listing is not on the album, thank the heavens for that. Me no likey this song one bit. It has a very whinny tone to it and with someone who has a high pitch voice as is, The Dream should make it an effort to sing at his normal tone. But he does get points for trying something a little different.

Here is a leaked track from Ryan Leslie entitled "One In Million". This song actually did not make the album but is hot all the more. It's that song you play when you are feeling bad about letting that one good girl/guy go, kind of like kicking yourself for being stupid, you know the usual. I am in love with his voice I can not lie.

Here is a leaked track from J. Holiday titled "Don't Leave". Judging by the music Holiday has put out for this album Round 2, I am kind of anticipating it. Does not look like he's going to suffer the sophomore effort doom because he is putting out quality material.

Ryan Leslie rubbed Ed Lover the wrong way

Uh oh Ryan you done gone and pissed Ed Lover and the crew off! This morning on Power 105.1's Ed Lover show, Ed Lover went in on Ryan's sneaky ways. The term "a friend of mine" no longer applies to Ryan when it comes to the crew of the show.

Last week, Ryan Leslie stopped by the Ed Lover show to promote his album Ryan Leslie (which is a M.Y. Recommended album) and while on the show Ed Lover and Free asked Ryan if there was anything to the relationship between he and Cassie. There was a brief pause before Ryan asked "Do I have to answer that" Ed and crew said "yes" and he said that there was nothing going on nor had anything happened between he and Cassie basically implying that Cassie and he were nothing but platonic friends.

Well, Ryan Leslie later that week hightailed his tail over to Hot 97.1's Angie Martinez show (the arch rival radio station to Power 105.1 in NYC) and sang a different tune. On the show when asked about Cassie he opened up like a can of worms. He went into detail about how he wants her to call him, how she doesn't answer his calls or texts, how much he felt a part of him missing because she wasn't at his album release party or the Virgin Megastore the day of it's release, everything! Catch it at the 4:15 mark.

And it wasn't only Angie's show he decided to open up on, he did it on numerous other media outlets. Because of this Ed Lover and crew has dubbed Ryan a new name "Lyin' Ryan", Damn!

Ryan's reason for opening up on other radio stations and media outlets was that he felt "more comfortable" doing so with them. If that isn't a slap in the face for Power 105.1, I don't know what is.

But what I do know is that Ryan made himself some enemies on the other side of the radio pond.

Story developing...

Side Order: In case you are wondering, Ryan Leslie only sold 23,000 copies in his first week, but in the video he said that the stores ran out of copies and he had to resort to giving people albums which would not be tracked by Nielson Soundscan. Makes you go hmmmm huh?
Update: Ryan calls in to apologize.
F.Y.I., you can catch the very interesting "Lyin Ryan" commercial the Ed Lover Show put together at this same link; this is why I adore Ed Lover.

Ryan Leslie wants Cassie to call him!

Ryan Leslie stopped by the Angie Martinez show the other day and decided to open up about his situation with Cassie. Apparently, sweetheart won't answer any of his calls or texts. What's up with that Cassie? Catch it at the 4:15 mark.

He also goes into detail about the fact that he felt a part of him missing the day his album was released because he feels a big part of him being known is because of the success with Cassie. Damn Cass, you breaking the man's heart. You didn't even show up to the album release party! I think you need to call Ryan...Leslie. Once she got on she left his ass for a rich guy...

Check out Part 2 of the interview below where he talks about going back in the studio this Fall to work on his second album...

Ed Lover interviews Ryan Leslie

Ryan Leslie stopped by Power 105.1's Ed Lover Morning Show and discussed his new album that dropped Tuesday 02.10.

They even go in to a brief discussion about Cassie and his past relationship. If you can remember, Ryan and Cassie were rumored to have been more than business associates and more like lovers.

This by the way, is where the notion that she was "f*cking for tracks" came from.

Ryan of course denies it and says that they were just friends; hmmm O.K. Ryan, we believe you :-). Check it out!

M.Y. Album Review: Ryan Leslie-Ryan Leslie

I am officially a Ryan Leslie fan! This album is full of body moving, eyes closed finger snapping enjoyable music. Ryan delivers with his very first self-titled album and gives us a reason to love R&B again. The producer/songwriter turned artist, gives us a mixture of rap and sultry melodic vocality that would melt the heart of an ice queen.

Just when I thought the only hot songs on the album would be the club banger "How It Was Supposed To Be" and the notable "Addiction", the 12 track album shuts me up; I didn't think that this was possible!

M.Y. Favorite Tracks

  • Addiction

  • You're Fly

  • Quicksand

  • Irina

  • Gibberish

Let's talk about "Gibberish". That has got to be the most clever track I have heard in such a long time. The song is just that, gibberish; humming and vocal riffs with the accompaniment of auto-tunes take the place of lyrics. And somehow, it is one of my favorites. I've said this once and I'll say it again, a wise man once said that you can tell if a song is a hit just from listening to the first 5 seconds of it, and this theory applies to this album. Practically all of the songs on the album is a hit. What I'm saying is that the entire album is f.i.r.e.!

I honestly thought that Ryan Leslie wouldn't be something to write home about for the simple fact that there has been very little promotion for the album; but I was thankfully mistaken. This album is a hidden gem and so is Ryan. Neyo just might have himself a little competition. Ryan Leslie is in stores now.

Leaked Music: Ryan Leslie ft. Keri Hilson-How It Was Supposed To Be

I really can not get enough of this song! Ryan knew what he was doing when he put this track together; so it is only right for the song to have a remix. The remix to How It Was Supposed To Be has surfaced on the web and it features the sultry Keri Hilson.

Not a fan of the remix at all.

First of all, Keri is a great singer and I don't feel like she brought it. I'm beginning to think that the track was released without being properly mixed because it seems like the beat is overpowering Keri's voice. It sounds like her voice is coming from far away; Pretty much it's hard to make out what her hook is.

Either way, I'm sure there's an explanation for this, I hope. I love the song but the remix could have been ALOT better. I still adore the both of you, just make sure to refrain from feeding us garbage or my adoration will turn sour :-).

Ryan Leslie "How It Was Suppose To Be" Pt.2

Ryan Leslie is pulling a Kanye. He has decided to release 3 video's for this one song, "How It Was Suppose To Be". In this version of "How It Was Suppose To Be" Ryan is an Army Cadette with a singing group who decides to put on a show for some of their fellow soldiers. Tyson Beckford makes an appearance.

I happen to really like this song and I think I'm getting to like Ryan's awkwardness. I like this video just a bit much. Unlike the last video, it doesn't fit the ordinary prototype of half naked woman squirming seductively and R&B male singer singing and begging for her love; that's just so boring. This video was creative and interesting.

I give this video a yummy B+ for showing that soldiers love and hurt too...but can they sing and dance with tight shirts and pants?

Side Bar: lol @ Ryan and Tyson fighting. Can Tyson do a video without fighting with the artist?! Strange. Oh! And let me just say, fighting over girls or boys is wack and so 1995 so don't even think about it. Stay tune for part 3 of the video saga...

Busta Rhymes & Ryan Leslie's album covers

I just love the New Year! New albums start to emerge to vie for the # 1 spot. Here are the first two album covers of the year.

Here is Ryan Leslie's new album cover, his very first actually. There is just something about him that appears awkward, maybe its that left arm...could be me. The cover is very debonair suave and simple.

Here is Busta Rhymes' new album cover. Its very interesting and out of the norm, kind of like Busta. I like it. Very creative. It will attract people who are fans as well as those who are not because it is very eye catching.

Side Order: Did you know that Ryan Leslie graduated from Harvard? I know, very impressive. Kudos to him!

Ryan Leslie "How It Was To Be"

Here is the new video from Ryan Leslie. I think this song is so hot! The beat is crazy, the lyrics are OK, but the energy is intense in this song. Thus far, I have been pleased with Ryan's music...it's just him that kind of weirds me out. He's so...how do I put this..awkward; like he belongs behind the scenes but wants so badly to feel the crowd scream his name.

The leading lady in the video sure does resemble Cassie I must say; I wonder if this is about her? Someone does seem a little scorned. The video shows us nothing we haven't seen already, a male singer seducing a half-naked attractive woman..you know, the usual.

I give this video a yummy B+ (it gets 2 points for the song..that I'm downloading onto my Iphone as we speak)

On the charts...
