Listen: Alicia Keys' Dedication To Her Son - 'Speechless'

Here is new music from Alicia Keys titled "Speechless" that features Eve. They say that this track is a part of Swizz Beatz's Monster Mondays (a series of free MP3's released weekly) and that the song was inspired by Alicia's fascination with her son.

Eve also appears on the track, such a breath of fresh air to hear her voice. This marks the second single (first one being Eve's "Gangsta Lovin") that sees the two ladies collaborating.

A couple of months ago, Alicia blogged about how her son, Egypt, brought her so much joy and how she would spend hours staring at parts of him in awe at his creation. She also hinted that she would be penning a song about the moment...she held true to that.

The song is hot! Soulful of course and the lyrics are genuine. Some may have their appointed feelings about Alicia and that's fine, but the song is yummy.

Take a listen to the song when you...

[NEWS] Hip-Hop Gets Bitten By The Love Bug: Swizz Beatz/Alicia Keys and T.I. Jump The Broom

Gone are the days when we as fans would drop our jaws at the news that a rapper we thought we knew was actually married and happy. I can recall the shock I experienced when I found out that LL Cool J was married with kids. That shock was on the same level of when I found out that Ice Cube had the same scenario going on behind closed doors.

Swizz Beatz and T.I. are definitely not secretive about their boos. Nothing made that more clearer than the weddings these two Hip-Hop gems held this weekend.

[NEWS] Alicia Keys Takes A Fall At Essence Music Festival

One thing we can give Alicia Keys is the fact that she is a passionate performer that throws herself into her performances. When she hopped on top of her piano during her tribute performance of "Adore" to Prince at the BET Awards, everyone gasped collectively mainly because she was climbing for two.

Alicia Keys took to the stage once again at the Essence Music Festival in one of the performances that will be her last until she gives birth. During her performance of "Love Is Blind" the singer took a fall and landed on her back. Sources say that the fall was a soft one and that she and baby are fine, but could you imagine the thoughts running through people's minds when she hit the stage, literally?

A low quality video of the fall is here.

As far as her performance goes, the singer has received rave reviews for her organic performance style that did not include pyrotechnics or flashing underwear. Her Essence Music Festival performance is being touted as soulful and innovative as she jumped from a baby grand piano to a strap-on electric keyboard using them as trusty music sidekicks.

Videos and more photo's of hers and other artist performances will be posted when made available so stay tuned!...

Alicia Keys vs. Chris Brown: Who's Career Is In A Better Position?

Alicia Keys and Chris Brown have both experienced a tough year. Chris Brown has been struggling to light the fire under the stove pilot that is his career ever since his fall out with Rihanna became tabloid and blog fodder.

Video Premiere: Alicia Keys 'Unthinkable (I'm Ready)'

Here is the new video from Alicia Keys for her song "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)" off of her album The Element of Freedom in stores now.

Staying true to her promise, Alicia delivers a vintage style video set in the 1950's but she throws in a twist by interchanging with a scene that is also set in real time.

The video has a concept...the second video this week with one (ahem Drake) and shows Alicia exploring the waters of interracial dating. Although she's found love in a man from another race, she has her family who are against it. At the end she has to make a decision to either follow her heart or obey her family. She reaches to push her house's screen door to meet her lover outside who is waiting for her in his car, but then in a separate scene brings her hands to her sides.

Deep huh?

Loved the video just as much as I love Drake's and interestingly he wasn't in this one even though he was featured on the original song and wrote it.

"Unthinkable", to me, is the best track off of her latest project probably because it has that R&B element that goes so nice with her voice.

Wonder if we will be getting "Put It In A Love Song" anytime soon...

Has Alicia Keys' Appeal Taken A Hit?

I’ll be the first to admit that I was one of the biggest Alicia Keys fans when she first debuted on the scene with Songs in A Minor tucked under her wings. Her sound was different and I loved the fact that she had the around-the-way-girl look and not so much the glamour doll with more looks than talent. Her songs were relatable not because it touched on issues most women were familiar with but more so because she actually penned the lyrics.

Beyonce & Alicia Keys Perform 'Put It In A Love Song' Live

Alicia Keys performed at the Garden last night as part of her stop on her 'Freedom' tour here in NYC.

Surprised, surprised were how the audience were when Alicia jumped right into her song "Put It In A Love Song" which features Beyonce. As soon as Beyonce hit the stage the crowd erupted with joy and who could blame them? There is nothing better than two powerhouses on one stage. They definitely got their money's worth last night and then some.

The performance was good at best. I personally am not that big of a fan when it comes to the song. I would have loved to hear them on a slow jam with a heavy bass accompaniment. "Put It In A Love Song" would have been great for a newbie artist but not two artists that have cemented themselves as the best of the best.

It's no where to be found on Billboard's Top 100 charts and forget about the Hip-Hop/R&B charts. This might have a lot to do with them deciding to push the premiere of the music video for this song to mid April.

Sundae Kind Of Love: Alicia Keys 'Like You'll Never See Me Again'

"If I had no more time
No more time left to be here
Would you cherish what we had?
Was it everything that you were looking for?
If I couldn't feel your touch
And no longer were you with me
I'd be wishing you were here
To be everything that I'd be looking for
I don't wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don't wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
'Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed"

Alicia Keys On Oprah + Performs 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' Live [Video]

Alicia Keys stopped by the Oprah Winfrey Show which aired on Friday and participated in an interview and later hit the stage to perform her song "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart."

The two Aquarius powerhouses chopped it up about her duet with Beyonce (which they showed a short clip from the video), her return to Africa this coming June, her new body, and possibly working with Prince in the future.

Swizz Beatz Proposes To Alicia Keys, So They Say...

According to the rumor mill, Swizz Beatz has decided to put a ring, a 7-carat diamond ring, on Alicia Keys' ring finger on her left hand.

The proposal happened the day before Alicia's January 25th b-day, the singer turned 29.

Though a rep from Alicia has gone on record denying the engagement, only time will really tell.

I think the rumors are right on point but they want to keep it hush, hush until he finalizes his divorce, which will probably see him shelling over half of his fortune to his soon-to-be-ex-wife Mashonda...isn't that how they do it these days?

She will probably be raising all sorts of hell once she finds out that he is indeed moving on, and will be prepared to wipe the floor with him via child support and alimony.

It isn't right, but it happens too many times to count....

I'm definitely happy for Alicia and Swizz only because I dig that lovey-dovey romantic ish, but I can't help but to find it a little tacky. He hasn't even signed his divorce papers yet and he is already down on one knee asking for another woman's hand in marriage; not a good way to start a new life.

At any rate congratulations to the couple, if it is in fact true.

JAY-Z & ALICIA KEYS' 'EMPIRE STATE OF MIND' USED IN TRAILER FOR 'SEX AND THE CITY 2'

I almost jumped for joy when I heard Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' single "Empire State of Mind" as the opening track for the Sex and the City 2 movie trailer last night.

Now, I love the first movie (adored the show) and love "Empire State of Mind" so to have the two combine is a huge deal, well, for me.

Some people might be thinking, well, so what? It's just a song that was used, and to that I say yeah right! You are so missing the point here.

They chose a Hip-Hop song as the background track for their movie trailer. Although Jay's part was blacked out, it's a step in the right direction. Besides the fact that Jay and Alicia will get royalties off of it, this is just another pop-your-collar moment for the two who have already performed the song live at the World Series.

It doesn't get any better than this.

MORNING SOUL FOOD: ALICIA KEYS 'IF I AIN'T GOT YOU'

Alicia Keys at her finest. I have been an Alicia Keys fan since her Songs In A Minor days because of her true natured lyrics.

You can actually relate to her words and the piano is a great touch.

If you haven't picked up your copy yet, her newest project The Element of Freedom is currently in stores and from what I've read is blazing up the charts.

I'm not so crazy about the LP because I feel that it sounded rushed, but it does have a few gems on it - one of which being "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart."

VIDEO PREMIERE: ALICIA KEYS 'TRY SLEEPING WITH A BROKEN HEART'

Here is the new music video for Alicia Keys' song "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart."

The song is beginning to grow on me slowly but surely. The video is pretty cool with Alicia having all sorts of super powers; she sure has gotten imaginative with her videos, change is good

Video Rating: A yummy B+.

ALBUM COVERS: ALICIA KEYS 'THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM'

The album cover I posted earlier this week turned out to be a fake (people clearly have way too much time and photoshop power), so here is the official album cover.

The cover uses a somewhat similar font as the one that was presumed to be the official album cover.

Alicia's The Element of Freedom is scheduled for release on December 15.

Here is the cover for Alicia Keys' forthcoming album The Elements of Freedom. The album is set for release on December 15.

Very Joan of Arc meets The Bodyguard. I get a whole lot of peaceful vibes from this cover, very nice.

New Music: Alicia Keys - 'Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart'

Here is new music from Alicia Keys titled "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" off of her album The Element of Freedom due in stores on December 15.

At this point, I am convinced that Alicia is trying to go down the pop route if it wasn't clear when she debuted her video for "Doesn't Mean Anything" on perez hilton's site.

The song is OK to me. People have been raving about it but I'm not feeling it much. She had such a great album with As I Am, I was expecting her to out do herself like she's been doing since she made her debut with Songs in A Minor. Judging by the two singles she's released, I have yet to be blown away by any of them.

On the charts...
