Video Premiere: Mary J. Blige (feat. Trey Songz) 'We Got Hood Love'
Here is a new video from Mary J. Blige for her song "We Got Hood Love" featuring Trey Songz. This song appears on Mary's album Stronger With Each Tear in stores now.
I love the concept of showing how each couple dealt with the unglamorous side of relationships with them reconciling at the end.
This was one of my favorite songs on the album. You can always count on Mary to deliver songs that explore the many sides of love.

Why American Idol Will Bring A Singer Back To Reality
American Idol premiered last night and of course it started with the audition period where thousands and thousands of hopeful singer's perform their best covers for the judges.
Honestly, I didn't watch the premiere last night. I have been American Idoled out for sometime now and wasn't interested in what the show had to offer this season; and you know it's bad when you don't even want to tune in for the auditions which is the most interesting part of the show besides the finale.
One of the contestants that appeared on the show was a young man who claimed to be 20 but looked 30, but I digress.
Armed and ready, Lamar went in singing Seal's "Kiss From A Rose." Keep in mind that this man said prior to his audition that he would respect the judges opinions and loved taking constructive criticism.
Boy did he lie through his teeth.
After the judges voted no to the idea of sending him to Hollywood officially entering him into the competition, Lamar started to cuss and throw a tantrum ending his stay by saying that Mary J. Blige, who was one of the judges, could not sing anyway.
All I know is that if I were one of the judges, he would've choked me because my critique would have been far worst.
It's not that he can't sing, he has potential, its that he's doing too much in one breath making it a nuisance to hear him sing especially when he's trying to belt out Seal's classic record and Stevie Wonder's"My Cherie Amour." That was what the judges tried to explain to him through his bout with cussing and singing.
Turrets at its finest.
Note to future American Idol wannabes: Behave yourself in front of company.

MORNING SOUL FOOD: MARY J. BLIGE 'BE HAPPY'
Joe Nichols - Gimmie That Girl
by UniversalMusicGroup
Mary J. Blige is such a phenomenal artist in my eyes. She makes songs that everyone can relate to and for some reason everytime I hear her music I get a vivid memory of the 90's.
Mary's albums are really the soundtrack of my life.

MARY J. BLIGE TALKS PENNING LYRICS FOR THE FILM 'PRECIOUS'
Here is a video of Mary J. Blige speaking with Billboard.com about the film Precious and what it was like penning lyrics for a song for the movies soundtrack.
I plan on seeing the film tomorrow, but just based on the book "Push" (which the film is based off of) I'm sure I am going to be in for something interesting.
The film also stars Mariah Carey, Mo'Nique, and Paula Patton to name a few.
If you haven't seen the flick, make sure you do yourself a favor and get tickets. According to the reviews, the film is worth every penny.

New Music: Mary J. Blige-Said And Done
I heart this song. Mary is always evolving when it comes to her albums. Her albums are very diverse and touch on subjects like losing love, heartbreak, and regaining love; I am just curious what this album is going to hold, there isn't much drama is Mary's life these days as far as we know. I am so digging "Stronger" I've outplayed that song I'm sure.

Sunday Kind Of Love: Mary J. Blige-Be Without You
Mary J. Blige - Be Without You
Uploaded by UniversalMusicGroup.
"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye"
This week's Sunday Kind Of Love is brought to you by Mary J. Blige and her song "Be Without You".
Mary J. Blige along with Johnta Austin, Bryan Michael Cox, and Jason Perry knew what they were talking about when they penned this hit. The song speaks on the truth about love. I love a great happy ending, those are the only kind of romantic movies I like; but I also like to know what it took to get there.

Jay-Z raises the bar at benefit concert at MSG

I wish a mutherphucker would tell me that Jay-Z is "too old" to rap after watching him bring the house down at Madison Square Garden last night. Now I can't lie, I was caught doing research and completely forgot that the live airing of his concert at MSG was last night at 9PM. Lucky for me it came to me while I was stuffing my face so I tuned in just in time to get a gist of the great performances.
First of all, can we please talk about his impeccable stage presence? The man is a genius as far as knowing what the crowd wants. He had the entire arena singing along to his songs, he could have put the mic on the stage floor and let the crowd take over, that's how real it was.
Then lets talk about how he was able to get some of the hottest performers to come out and blow the stage up with their presence. You know, the big one's like Ms. Mary J. Blige, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and wifey Beyonce to name a few....
He even pulled Rihanna off of her daily shopping spree during the oh-so popular Fashion Week out here in NYC to get to work on that friggin stage.
^^^F.Y.I. This was her first live performance since the infamous February 8th. The show was pure and utter banana pudding people. I know for sure that the same rappers who were calling Jay too old were the same one's with their eyes glued to their TV screens with a pen and notepad taking notes...it's OK everyone must learn from someone.
The show was insane and what added honey to the tea was the fact that all of the proceeds went to the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children Benefit Fund. I love it when rappers give back...you know, they do-do that.
Jay-Z lifted our spirits yesterday and I can honestly say for the first time in a longtime September 11th was not so dreary. That is how music can be yummy for the soul.
This performance had me exhausted...I was too hyped for words.
You can catch the replay of the show tomorrow at 5 PM on Fuse TV.

Video Premiere: Mary J. Blige-The One
Here is the new video from Mary J. Blige for her song "The One" featuring Drake that is set to appear on her album Stronger. Stronger is scheduled for a November release.
Ms. Blige is giving all types of chic and attitude in this video. She is sporting a new haircut that yells I'm in charge, so move aside. I love the color effects and dated robotic moves, very retro.
I just have one question, is Drake Hip-Hop's superman? How on earth is he landing on tracks with the heavy weights in Hip-Hop and R&B?
I know that he's the protege of Lil Wayne but does Wayne hold that much weight in the industry to get Drake in good with folks? Whatever the case may be, someone needs to hand Drake Beyonce's Chinese money fan from her "Diva" video because the man is hot. Just based off of the features he has under his belt, he is making a name for himself and he hasn't even dropped an LP yet! I am going to have to conduct a full on investigation on this matter because this is just baffling to me...I guess he just got it like that.

Video Premiere: Mary J. Blige-Stronger
Here is the new video for Mary J. Blige's song "Stronger" off of her album Stronger that is due in stores in November. The song will also be the lead single in the More Than A Game basketball documentary that stars LeBron James.
This song is so beautiful. The lyrics are true to form and Mary's voice and the lighting effects in the video really allows the song to hit home, loves her emotion. I can't get the song out of my head and can't wait for her album to drop.
Video Rating: A yummy A-.

Video Premiere: Mary J. Blige-I Can Do Bad All By Myself
Here is the new video from Mary J. Blige for her song "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" off of the soundtrack to Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
This is classic Mary at her best. On another note, I can't wait to see Tyler Perry's latest release in theaters. It makes me laugh when people have negative things to say about his movies saying that it plays "into stereotypes" yet they have no problem with buying a ticket to a gangster movie starring Denzel Washington...people smh.
Mary is preparing to release her album Stronger, which has a November 24th. release date.
Video Rating: A yummy B.

Behind the scenes with Mary J. Blige
Here is a behind the scenes look at the making of the AT&T commercial starring Mary J. Blige and her new single "The One".
I can't wait for the new album, I hear it has a few gems in it.
The track is set to appear on Mary's new album Stronger that is due in stores November 24th.

Video Premiere: T.I. ft. Mary J. Blige-Remember Me
Here is the official video for T.I.'s song "Remember Me" featuring Mary J. Blige.
I love the fact that T.I. was smart enough to record material and a video before he left to serve his time, that is how you are suppose to conduct your business, minus the serve time part.
The video is straight to the point and relative to the song. I do however rebuke who ever it was that cut that mullet into Mary's head, though she is wearing that mullet out.
On another note, how long are we going to pretend that Maino's "All The Above" (hot song by the way) is not the exact same beat from T.I. and Rihanna's song "Live Your Life"?
Video Rating: A yummy B.

M.Y. Sunday Kind Of Love: Mary J. Blige-Love No Limit

Straight up, if you continue to chase the kind of people that are not looking to give you the love you want and deserve, you won't get it. Chivalry still exists and their are a variety of people that still practice it, you just have to look for them and stop settling for less, don't ever limit the potential of your love. Have a happy Sunday!

M.Y. Song Of The Week: Mary J. Blige- Be Happy

This week's SOTW is brought to us courtesy of Mary J. Blige the real queen of Hip-Hop Soul and her song "Be Happy". I was watching a VH1 special over the weekend on how R&B began and how it's evolved from the four walls of club scenes to this chart-topping genre. Out of the artists that they mentioned, Mary stuck out most to me.
The way she turned her struggle into music in the most eloquent way is amazing. She has always been real and genuine as an artist and that is the main reason why she has been able to stick around in this dog-eat-dog business and still remain the victor. Perfect example of her genuine nature is the realness but basic essence of her song "Be Happy". There is no underlining meaning to the song, it means just what it reads.
Be Happy - Mary J. Blige
Mary has been able to stick around and be the soulful entity she is even with the overflow of the R&B/Pop artists that are popping up left and right. Hopefully, there is an album on the way because we can all use a good dose of some Mary right about now.

Mary J. Blige and Monica to star in new BET shows

BET is ready to improve on their content and their current programing. Getting the inspiration from Obama being elected the 44th President of The United States, BET is ready to, in a sense, grow up. In a plan to improve the views and perceptions of the African-American community in-house as well as in other countries (being that BET is the number one African-American media company in the world and is available in over 80 Million homes with cable television) the network has come forth with a very exciting line-up of new programming.
Premiering next year (2010), The Hollywood Treatment, a pilot that stars Mary J. Blige, is a makeover reality show for the soul that allows celebrities to give a life transformation to a chosen individual in conjunction with a foundation that is chosen by the celebrity or the individual.
In addition to that, R&B singer Monica has also been tapped to get her very own reality show entitled "Still Standing", a docu-drama that will follow the Grammy Award-winning artist as she balances family life and her journey in making her comeback in the music industry.
It is about time BET decided to change their programming around. The shows that were on the station last year was just downright embarrassing. Definitely looking forward to change on BET and more so the shows that were mentioned. I can not wait for Monica to make her comeback!

M.Y. Sunday Kind Of Love: Method Man ft. Mary J. Blige-All I Need
Method Man ft Mary J Blige - All I Need
by rikma
Classic, classic, classic! Today's Sunday Kind Of Love is brought to you by Method Man and Mary J. Blige with "All I Need" which is a sample/remake of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's duet "You're All I Need To Get By".
People often think that Hip Hop artists hardly ever speak about love but they do in their own way. It's not always as mushy and lovey dovey but it's love through their interpretation and you know what? it's just as sweet and beautiful.
Have a happy Easter and Sunday!

M.Y. Leaked Music: Mary J. Blige ft. Neyo-Love

Here is leaked music from mama Hip Hop and R&B Mary J. Blige featuring Neyo. The song is called "Love" and it is so damn touching.
Click here if you can not see the player.
The lyrics are so deep and real that I'm positive Neyo wrote. It really makes you think and feel. I've been waiting for these two to do a song together.
Does this mean we are about to get a Mary album?! Oh, pretty please Mary!!
