Video: Jay-Z and Kanye West Really Know How To Party

I love candid videos of celebrities for many reasons, but mainly because we get to see celebrities be themselves and not equipped with PR placed statements and smiles... although I do love me some publicists :-).

Jay-Z and Kanye West were captured on video at the Marquee in Las Vegas for the after party for Jay's New Year's Eve concert at the newly opened Cosmopolitan hotel. With bottles of Ace of Spades in their hands and while taking sips straight from the bottle, Jay and Kanye performed "Monster" and "Runaway" ...tipsy of course.

Kanye even dropped hint that he and Jay's collaborative album Watch The Throne is coming in one week. Judging by the hearty laugh Jay did, I have reason to believe that the liquor was talking...we'll see.

Rihanna was also briefly captured in the video showing much personality, I love it!

Video Leak: Kanye West (ft. Rick Ross, Jay-Z, & Nicki Minaj) 'Monster'

So it seems the unfinished video for Kanye West's "Monster" leaked online and I was able to get my hands on it. Look fast, this might be pulled off within hours.

The video consists of closeups of Kanye's lips and grill, Nicki Minaj giving herself a lapdance, women hanging from their necks, little girls with no pupils playing double dutch in a room full of books, people eating each other, and Kanye holding a severed head among other things.

You can tell this isn't the official completed video because there are scenes that have getty image watermarks on it, but it wouldn't be too crazy to believe that the completed version will look similar to this.

Jay-Z Will Pocket $1 Million For New Year's Eve Gig

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but getting paid while I usher in a New Year is not a bad way to start 2011. Jay-Z shares the same sentiment and will be doing just that when he performs at the Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on New Years Eve.

The $25 million celebration that was announced earlier this summer will see Jay entertaining 2,500 guests and banking a cool $1 million for his performance. Coldplay, who are also on the roster, will also receive $1 million for their performance.

It's no wonder Jay had little hesitation with dropping $350,000 on a Christmas gift for Beyonce.

Sneak Peek At Kanye West's 'Monster' Video (Feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, & Nicki Minaj)

Here is a sneak peek at Kanye West's video for his song "Monster" that features Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj.

The theme seems to be dead people so this will be an interesting watch.

They just love f**king with people I see.

MC Hammer Was Serious About His Jay-Z Diss (Video)

Here is a new video from MC Hammer for his song "Better Run Run!"

This stands as an answer to Jay-Z's verse in the Kanye West joint single "So Appalled" where Jay-Z makes mention to Hammer's financial woes.

First let me say that I respect Hammer (who is now going by King Hammer) for all that he's done for rap and entertainment as a whole. He was the first rapper to go diamond and that without a doubt opened the door for other artists including Jay-Z to cement themselves in a genre that was once considered a fad.

With that said, I have to admit that this video was disturbing. Besides the fact that it is catering to all the devil worshipping talk that has been running rampant in Hip Hop, it just was weird.

We'll see how this pans out but from where I'm sitting it seems Jay won again and Hammer was better off just ignoring Jay's verse.

[NEWS] Rihanna Leaves Manager For Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management

According to Associate Press, Rihanna has parted ways with her manager Marc Jordan and will now be managed by Jay's Roc Nation Management company.

This comes as little surprise as Jay was the one who signed Rihanna to Def Jam.

Not to mention, he was the one responsible for Rihanna's fame taking a well deserved push after he dropped his verse on her now infamous single "Umbrella."

Rihanna said in a statement that she is excited about her new career move and that she will be launching her very own company, Rihanna Entertainment, which will "merge all of her businesses, including music, film, fragrance fashion and book ventures."

Rihanna is currently gearing up to release her newest album Loud due in stores November 16.

[NEWS] Jay-Z & Coldplay Team Up For New Year's Eve Concert In Las Vegas

There's nothing like hanging with friends and ringing in the New Year's together. That is what Jay-Z and his boy Chris Martin of Coldplay are going to do when the clock strikes midnight this New Year's Eve.

Listen: New Music From Kanye West (Feat. Jay-Z) 'Power (Remix)'

I'm on my Van Gogh, I don't hear sh*t - Kanye West

Here is the remix to Kanye's monster track "Power" featuring Jay-Z. This track was produced by Kanye himself along with Swizz Beatz and features a small sample of  Snap's "The Power."

I wasn't impressed. I loved the beginning with Jay-Z adding his verse even though I felt he could have given us more. The switch up with the sample from "The Power" paired with Swizz's voice all over it just confused me. Too much for an already great track. I would have loved to hear a bevy of rappers on the track instead of the random switch up. Then again it's Kanye and he doesn't do anything by the book.

I did like the fact that Kanye's verse in the switch sounded like a freestyle which was refreshing given the new rehearsed atmosphere in Hip-Hop when it comes to music. It might grow on me, but as for now I'll keep the original "Power" on heavy rotation on the Pod and pass on this one *shrug*.

SideBar: Lol @ the Taylor Swift reference. I see they are trying to get some of the same controversy attention profited off of...

What do y'all think?

Popcorn Moments: Beyonce and Jay-Z At MSG (Fade to Black)

In November of 2004, a film chronicling Jay-Z's performance at Madison Square Garden in what was dubbed as a farewell concert aired in theaters. The rapper was reportedly retiring from Hip-Hop and wanted to go out in style.

The concert boasted appearances from Foxy Brown, Mary J. Blige, Ghostface Killah,Diddy and of course his girlfriend at the time Beyonce.

What I loved most about this moment is at the beginning when Beyonce gives Jay-Z that look and he shoots it right back at her right before bursting into her performance of "Crazy In Love."

I love their performance chemistry...

Staying true to her style, Beyonce makes sure to cover every inch of that Garden stage and the performance was very entertaining. A popcorn moment indeed.

[NEWS] Jay-Z's Surprise NYC Concert Axed Because Of Near Riot At Drakes Concert?

Similar to a domino effect, people are going to have to pay for the near riot that occurred at a free concert last week that was to be headlined by Drake. One of those people who are the first to pay is rapper Jay-Z.

Jay-Z was scheduled to throw a surprise concert in NYC "atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater" in Midtown Manhattan to kick start the summer season on Monday, June 21st, but city officials have shut down those plans.

Officials from the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting have abruptly canceled plans to grant a permit for the concert. The leaking of information pertaining to the event on Thursday (June 17) ended weeks of negotiations.

This of course comes a week after a crowd became unruly at New York's South Street Seaport.

Just fabulous.

They don't lie when they say that the ignorant ruin it for everybody.

Though it has not been confirmed that the near riot that took place at the seaport had anything to do with the Mayor's office decision, I would be kidding myself if I didn't point out how the scenario fits like a puzzle when it comes to the cancellation.

Other artists such as former Beatle Paul McCartney were granted a permit to organize a concert at the venue in the past, so its not as if it hasn't been done before.

Oh well...

Jay-Z's Performance Of 'Young Forever' At Bonnaroo

I hear that there were some issues at Bannaroo this past weekend. 100 arrests and one death could leave a damper on any event. But people will do just about anything for music...

Anyway, Jay-Z was one of the performers for the night and performed a 90 minute set. Songs like "On To The Next One" and "99 Problems" came booming from the speakers and had the crowd going wild.

I had actually attempted to stay up long enough to catch Jay's performance on You Tube. The video streaming website had a live stream of the event Saturday evening, but sleep did me in.

Thank the gods for internet!

Above is the video of Jay-Z's performance of his song "Young Forever." This single appears on his album Blueprint 3 in stores now.

NEWS // Lil Kim Inks New Deal With Jay-Z's Roc Nation?

Various online sources are confirming that Lil Kim has signed a new deal with Jay-Z's label Roc Nation.

This might just be the defibrillator to chest reviving she needed...

Rumors of this partnership has been floating around with many brushing it off as untrue. Some fans actually were foolish enough to believe that Lil Kim would be unable to make a comeback and clearly she was holding her tongue for good reason.

Jay-Z will reportedly executive produce Kim's new album that she is currently working on.

They said that Nicki Minaj was gearing up to take her place, but how can that be possible when Kim is still here?

It's about time we get more than one female rapper in the commercial arena.

Stay tuned...

Who's That Girl Performing With Jay-Z On SNL?

This was the question I asked myself as I watched a pretty girl that resembled Alicia Keys sing the chorus to Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" alongside the rapper on SNL this past Saturday.

To cure my curiosity, I decided to do a little digging to find out just who this little lady is.

Beyonce Is So Dirty + Performance W/ Jay-Z At Coachella 2010

I was super mesmerized by Jay-Z and Beyonce's performance at Coachella 2010 that it wasn't after I watched the video again that I realized the rude words that were sprawled all over Beyonce's white t-shirt.

Is Jay-Z Really The Greatest Rapper Of All Time?

The ancient argument that seems to always hit a dead end has left the corners of Hip-Hop and found its way to sports TV. Wale recently made an appearance on ESPN's 1st and 10 and entered into a debate with Skip Bayless about if Jay-Z is the greatest rapper of all time.

Of course, Wale was there to defend his idol stating that Jay has had 11 number 1 albums therefore he has to be the greatest (without really saying those words exactly).

Jay-Z Says "'We Are The World' To Me Will Forever Be Untouchable"

Over the weekend, Jay-Z and basketball player LeBron James held their 4th Annual 2 Kings Dinner in Dallas, Texas and while on the red carpet at the event, Jay-Z answered questions pertaining to the remake of "We Are The World."

The song that was remade in honor of its 25th anniversary as well as a form of awareness and avenue for people to donate to the earthquake stricken Haiti, included solos that were performed by T-Pain, Lil Wayne and Akon with auto-tune and also featured solos from Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige to name a few.

Though done with great motive, the remake has received ample criticism with much reason; and now rapper Jay-Z is giving his $0.02 about the song explaining that the original is untouchabele.

I know that everybody gonna take this wrong...but I think "We Are The World" is like "Thriller"...to me I don't ever want to see it touched. I appreciate the efforts and everything, but "We Are The World" to me will forever be untouchable.

And I agree....

I understand that the song is best reflecting what music is today but I just think that it could have been executed better. The use of auto-tune 2 years after it was seen as popular and is now seen as played out is a no, no and a music fopaux.

Yes it was done for a good cause, but putting together material and going off of the fact that its for a good cause thinking  no one will really criticize it, is cheating the full potential of music and the healing powers it embodies.

The good news is not everyone hated it, some people were quite moved by the remake.

Here's a video of Jay-Z talking about the remake.

Jay-Z And Beyonce Were Still Making Money At The Super Bowl

Jay-Z and Beyonce really have to be one of the most powerful couples we have seen in a while. Besides the fact that their names are brands at this point, they were able to land commercial spots during the Super Bowl; oh how that must have made their enemies bloods boil.

Beyonce appeared in a commercial for Vizio in which she has a multi-million dollar endorsement with, while Jay-Z appeared in a kick-off commercial for the event.

Somewhere right now someone's getting a check.

On the charts...
