Mary J. Blige and Monica to star in new BET shows

BET is ready to improve on their content and their current programing. Getting the inspiration from Obama being elected the 44th President of The United States, BET is ready to, in a sense, grow up. In a plan to improve the views and perceptions of the African-American community in-house as well as in other countries (being that BET is the number one African-American media company in the world and is available in over 80 Million homes with cable television) the network has come forth with a very exciting line-up of new programming.

Premiering next year (2010), The Hollywood Treatment, a pilot that stars Mary J. Blige, is a makeover reality show for the soul that allows celebrities to give a life transformation to a chosen individual in conjunction with a foundation that is chosen by the celebrity or the individual.

In addition to that, R&B singer Monica has also been tapped to get her very own reality show entitled "Still Standing", a docu-drama that will follow the Grammy Award-winning artist as she balances family life and her journey in making her comeback in the music industry.

It is about time BET decided to change their programming around. The shows that were on the station last year was just downright embarrassing. Definitely looking forward to change on BET and more so the shows that were mentioned. I can not wait for Monica to make her comeback!
