Video Premiere: Rick Ross (feat. Ne-Yo) 'Super High'
Here is the a new music video from Rick Ross for his song "Super High" off of his upcoming album The Teflon Don.
The video for "Super High" takes place in the desert with Rick Ross and Ne-Yo playing daring bikers. The beautiful Stacey Dash plays Rick's leading lady. I like the song, I like the memorizing funk soul sample. The video didn't really match the song and if it did it probably would have done wonders for the song.

Has Ne-Yo Taken R.Kelly's Place As The King Of R&B?
Though many will deny this point, some artists succeed at knocking others off of their pedestals. For example, many female artists have been trying desperately to get on Beyonce’s level when it comes to vocals and performance skills, with some failing miserably.
But that’s another topic for another post.
Two artists that popped up for debate were Ne-Yo and R.Kelly. What was funny about this debate was the fact that Ne-Yo and Kelly had problems with one another a couple of years back after life was pumped into drama between the two when they toured together. R.Kelly was reportedly being a diva and Ne-Yo was sick of it.
It’s no secret; Ne-Yo has practically solidified himself as the go-to person when it comes to writing hit songs and being featured on records with top artists. He can sing just as well as he can write, and when it comes to music he understands its general make up and what it takes to make a universal hit.
R.Kelly ruled the 90’s and most of the early 2000’s with his “baby making” singles that became fan favorites, not to mention songs that went on to be elementary school graduation staples; but with his recent album performing horribly, it leads me to question if he is still relevant.
Is Ne-Yo the new King of R&B? And if so, is there still room for R.Kelly?

The 2009 BET Awards: The recap
The BET Awards was nothing short of interesting last night. The ceremony that took place last night in Los Angeles was hosted by Jamie Foxx who had so many roles in the show I forgot what he was actually there for. He most definitely represented last night and did a great job.
Keri Hilson had a pretty good performance until the end of her set when she was trying to imitate Michael Jackson. During her performance she did a whole lot of things from tricks with her microphone to jumping over a crowd of fans; that is probably why she was out of breath.
Beyonce did a really great job at performing an opera-esque set. Though it nearly put me to sleep, it really showed how great of a range she has with her voice.
As for Neyo, I couldn't get my eyes off of his baldy.
Janet Jackson attended with her dad Joe Jackson and had this to say about the passing of Mike.

Video Premiere: Neyo-Part Of The List
Here is a new video from Neyo for his song "Part Of The List" off of his album Year Of The Gentleman in stores now.
I like the song a lot but the video is a bit confusing and it leaves me wondering what is next. I see he used the same girl from "Mad". I love it when artists use the same co-stars in their videos, it helps the story of what the video and song are trying to portray.
Video Rating: A yummy B.

Video Premiere: Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West & Neyo-Knock You Down

Here is the new video from Keri Hilson for her song "Knock You Down" off of her album In A Perfect World in stores today!
Loves this song and love the video even more. Keri has a very fresh look and she's a cute fashionista. Kanye West and Neyo who are featured on the song make an appearance in the video fighting over Keri; the battle of the air signs!
Am I bugging or does Kanye look like a completely different person at the 3:20 mark? The video was cute and appropriate for madam Hilson..let's see how well the album does.
Video Rating: A yummy B+.

Neyo loves the kids
Check out a clip of Neyo on the children's show The Electric Company. How sweet. Don't just love it when artists lend a voice to children shows?!
I remember when MC Hammer was on Sesame Street. I loved me some Hammer in my day....

Chrisette Michele will work with Neyo on Epiphany
I am patiently and anxiously awaiting the release of Chrisette's album Epiphany, but after hearing the news that she has enlisted Neyo to help with the songwriting on the album it is now hard to mask my jubilance.
Chrisette could have worked with Neyo earlier but at the time when she was working on her first album she did not want anyone writing on it but her. But once she seen that the song she passed on went on to be a hit she made a mental note to not repeat said same mistake.
Chrisette had this to say about the album,
"This album Epiphany was like, ‘you’ve been in a crazy situation, wake up and get out of it’. I think people have been through that before; it’s touching, but it’s honest."
Neyo assures that Epiphany will be truth telling,
"This album is just pure honesty". It’s saying, ‘I’m a person. I have my glam, I have my fly, but I’m a person just like everyone else. Ya’ll been through stuff, I’ve been through stuff; let’s grow together.”

Here is leaked music from mama Hip Hop and R&B Mary J. Blige featuring Neyo. The song is called "Love" and it is so damn touching.
Click here if you can not see the player.
The lyrics are so deep and real that I'm positive Neyo wrote. It really makes you think and feel. I've been waiting for these two to do a song together.
Does this mean we are about to get a Mary album?! Oh, pretty please Mary!!

Grammy Award red carpet pics!
As we know, the Grammy Awards went down last night and it was lack luster and not even close to great but I'll get to that in a min. Anyhow, here are a few pics from the red carpet!
Estelle hit the carpet. Not in love with the dress but I am glad to see her get her shine...
Neyo and guest. One thing I have to give Neyo is that he has an eye for beautiful women. You'll never catch him with a H.A.M. on the red carpet...
The planter peanut guy a.k.a. T-Pain was there shockingly not dressed flashy. He must not have been feeling like himself. Question, are they still wearing grills?!
Jeezy was on the carpet, no comment...
Loves me some Janelle Monae! I am keeping the hope for you girl, I am keeping the hope...

Conversations with Neyo
Neyo talks album and Grammy nomination. I like Neyo, he is practically the only R&B artist consistently putting out hits. Give this man props...he's one of the very few keeping the radio alive.
Side Order: Did we all forget that he use to go by go-go?!

Neyo "Mad"
Ummm..is everyone doing a video in black & white?! sheesh...variety people VARIETY!!! Here is the new video from Neyo for his single Mad off of his album The Year of The Gentleman. This one is quite theatrical and emotional.
Neyo is fighting with his girl which leads to a series of events: Neyo temper, temper. I just feel like I've seen all of these shots in the video before. The raining plus spinning scene (didn't Usher do that? which he actually stole from Michael Jackson), the spot lit area of just him (didn't he do this in Sexy Luv?) boo boo booooo... i've seen it all before.
Nonetheless its a good video; there is a little twist at the very end that applies true meaning to the song. It kind of reminds me of The Sixth Sense.
Overall, i give this video a yumy B- because it kinda made me think..I really don't want to go to bed mad..lets makeup :-)
