Video Premiere: Drake (Feat. Lil Wayne) 'Miss Me'

Here is the new music video from Drake for his song "Miss Me" featuring Lil Wayne. "Miss Me" appears on Drake's album Thank Me Later in stores now.

The video was cool, pretty simple. I did like the way they incorporated Lil Wayne into the video without making it look cheesy.

It was actually one of the most creative ways a video has included an artist that is behind bars. Usually they would just get a lookalike, cast a shadow on them and have them recite the artist's lyrics, but this was different and definitely did the video justice.

Diddy Denies Co-Managing Nicki Minaj After Visiting Lil Wayne In Jail, Coincidence?

This is probably old news by now but it recently occurred to me how coincidental this entire situation is.

Video Premiere: Lil Wayne (ft. Eminem) 'Drop The World' + New Sentencing Date Revealed

The new video for Lil Wayne's song "Drop The World" that features Eminem premiered today.

The majority of the video was shot in front of a green screen but you wouldn't be able to tell that it is anything less than real.

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne's brush with faith has pushed his brand new sentencing date to Monday, March 8th.

If something comes up again that results in another postponement we are going to have to give Lil Wayne the classic Jesus water to wine test, it's only fair.

Lil Wayne's Sentencing Postponed Again For A Second Time

Lil Wayne must have been wearing a four-leaf clover in his sock today because his sentencing was postponed for a second time today.

The rapper was scheduled to be sentenced in Manhattan Criminal Court earlier today on charges stemming from a 2007 incident in NYC that found the rapper charged with being in possession of a .40 caliber gun.

Earlier this year, Lil Wayne was scheduled to report to court in NYC to receive sentencing, but it was postponed due to the rapper having to undergo dental surgery.

Wayne's lucky streak came around once again today when a two-alarm fire broke out in the basement of the courthouse where he was to be sentenced, resulting in his sentencing being postponed yet again.

Will Lil Wayne be going to jail or are we being punked?

I can't help but to feel that something just ain't right here

As of this post, a new date has not been set for him to reappear in court for sentencing.

UPDATE: Lil Wayne is scheduled to report back to court for sentencing tomorrow, March 3, 2010.

Lil Wayne Is On Twitter & He Has New Teeth!

Yesterday must have been the day of firsts for Lil Wayne. The rapper, who is scheduled to appear in court in 8 days to receive sentencing for his gun charge, decided to create a new twitter and Ustream account.

He also took the time out to show off actual pearly whites...yes, real teeth!

So I was right after all about them knocking some of those shiny buzzards out, I must be psychic.

Apparently, he decided to keep the top half of his shiny grill. I'll take what I can get, just the sheer joy of seeing white teeth in Wayne's mouth is enough to suffice.

For all you Wayne fans out there that are interested in catching up with his thoughts before he heads out to jail, his twitter account is @liltunechi...go ahead and get your stalk on.

Lil Wayne's Teeth Are Painful...

...for him.

The rapper reportedly underwent 8 root canals, teeth implants and had a few of the one's he has left repaired.

I guess I was wrong when I thought they were going to knock those shiny buzzards out.

The teeth makeover took 8 hours to complete and Wayne is currently recovering from the surgery.

8 root canals?? What was he doing to have to get 8 of those?! People usually beg for forgiveness after getting just one.

Now that-that is over, the rapper will have to report to court on March 2nd to receive his sentencing.

Lil Wayne's Teeth Save Him From Sentencing

I had the strangest feeling that Wayne would not be reporting to prison today. Even after he went on Ustream last night to bid farewell to his fans, I just didn't believe for sure that he would be reporting to prison.

My nagging sixth sense was on point as it has been reported that his sentencing was postponed due to unfinished oral surgery.

As you know, Lil Wayne has a mouth full of diamond teeth. From what I understand, they knocked out all of his pearly whites to replace them with diamond encrusted teeth and now they have to knock those out to replace them with pearly whites...again.

Weird I know?

When this news broke I wondered if he knew that this would happen. The dental work wasn't complete when he reported to court which means they weren't complete when he made the video, surely that must have been a fact he could have dropped, no?

At any rate, Wayne is scheduled to report back to the Manhattan criminal court in NYC for sentencing on March 2, 2010.

Video Premiere: Lil Wayne 'On Fire'

Here is the new video from Lil Wayne for his song "On Fire."

Very interesting track. The originality of it is very refreshing, even though I have a tough time making out what Lil Wayne is actually saying.

SideBar: The melody of the song sounds so familiar, just can't put my finger on it.

TRAILER FOR LIL WAYNES 'THE CARTER' DOCUMENTARY

Don't know about you but I am very interested. Just from the short snippets and Wayne's penchant for saying the most mind boggling and jaw dropping statements, ain't no telling what to expect.

Leaked clip of Lil Wayne's "The Carter Doc" documentary

Here is a clip of a scene from Lil Wayne's documentary "The Carter Doc."

The only reason why I am remotely interested in seeing this documentary is largely based off of that whole controversy that happened earlier this year with Wayne filing suit against QD3 Entertainment. Lil Wayne felt that the producers of the documentary added scenes in the film that was not approved byhim or anyone in his camp. Because of that, I want to see what all the fuss is about.

Speaking of Lil Wayne, the rapper is rumored to accept an 8-month bid in jail for his possession of a gun while in New York; he faces 15 years behind bars.

What I find interesting about this is that there is a mandatory (so they say) 3 1/2 years in jail for ANYBODY that is in possession of an illegal weapon in the great state of New York, how did Wayne get 8 months for something that is supposedly set in stone? Either way I hope everything works out for him, it hurts my heart to see rappers live up to stereotypes.

Video Premiere: Drake ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem-Forever

Here is the new video from Drake for his song "Forever" that features Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. The song is slated to appear on the More Than A Game movie soundtrack that is scheduled for release September 29th.

I love this song. I personally find myself waiting patiently for Eminem's part to come up because in my opinion it's the best verse in the song. The video isn't anything special which is cool because the song has enough pizazz as is.

I actually just got my hands on the soundtrack for More Than A Game earlier today. I haven't listened to it yet but judging by the list of heavy hitters on the album's credits (Mary J Blige, Jay-Z, and Chris Brown to name a few) the album might just be as good as the movie.

More Than a Game opens in NY, LA, Cleveland, and Akron on Friday, October 2nd.

Video Rating: A yummy B+.

TV Recap: Lil Wayne on 'Behind The Music'

The music television series "Behind The Music" returned to VH1 Thursday, September 10, after a 3-year hiatus. The first episode chronicled the life of Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Wayne. The rapper that hailed from New Orleans spoke in depth about his childhood, which included growing up with an abusive father, shooting himself in the chest with a pistol at 11 years old, and getting his start in music before the age of 18.

With a joint filled with marijuana held in his left hand, Lil Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) spoke about his rise out of hard-living and upgrading to the life of the wealthy. Growing up in New Orleans was not easy as made clear by the rapper and work associates that included his mentor Bryan "Baby" Williams; however, Lil Wayne managed to turn lemons into lemonade by using poverty as inspiration to earn more in life....Read More

There was a reason given for this

Lil Wayne and Drake's performance has been getting quite the backlash for their decision to perform with preteens on stage; but no worries, there is a reason why it became a Chuck E. Cheese party during their performance at the 2009 BET Awards.

As I was sitting there on my 5th meal for the day (which usually happens when I work from home) I was still trying to piece together why Drake was performing on a stool, when a group of little girls came walking out on stage; weird and some more weird.

According to blogger Sandra Rose, the girls that sashayed on stage was Lil Wayne's daughter and her group members from their group OMG which also consists of T.I.'s step-daughter. Anyhow, they were invited on stage after Wayne's daughter Regginae caught a spoiled child attack and was P.O.'ed at the fact that she did not make it on stage to assist her dad in accepting his BET award for Best Male Hip-Hop Artists.

So what did daddy do as repayment? He promised baby girl that she could come on stage with him during his performance. Too bad it was during a song where daddy went into detail about how he liked to filet females mignon's and owning things when let in, weird and some more weird.

*New* And The SMDH Award goes to....

Lil Wayne. I am proud to present The SMDH Award to Lil Wayne who has made quite a name for himself and is officially the alpha male in creating life. As for his professional career, Lil Wayne is still getting spins on the radio and is still a hot topic but his career attributes is not what earned him The SMDH Award.

Lil Wayne has successfully lived up to the stereotypes of the black man that has too many to count baby mama's in a short period of time. In 2 years he has upped his baby ratio from 1 to 4 and has succeeded in having two public eye individuals carry his seed making him worthy of the award that makes you go hmmm.

Congratulations Wayne!

Lil Wayne smartens up and sues

Do y'all remember that lawsuit that was filed against Wayne regarding a song that he sampled without a green light from the singer/songwriter of the original song?Do you also remember when Wayne was ordered by a judge to fork over documents that list his earnings for his Grammy award-winning album Tha Carter III? Well, Lil Wayne ain't too happy with the current condition of that lawsuit and has decided to sue the producer of "I Feel Like Dying".

Apparently, the producer that Wayne is suing, sampled the song from Karma-Ann Swanepoel's and used it without Karma's permission.

Hmmm...I guess his reasoning wasn't probable enough. Just last month, Wayne was trying to justify sampling Karma's song "Once". In fact, the excuse that his lawyer gave was that the song did not contribute to the success of Tha Carter III therefore,Karma-Ann should not be entitled to any money even if "I Feel Like Dying" was sampled from "Once" without her permission.

I guess Wayne's legal team had to re-strategize. This is a smart and mighty convienient move.

Lil Wayne sues over "scandalous portrayal" in documentary

It's Lil Wayne week...

With all the lawsuits and court appearances Lil Wayne has been experiencing since the start of the year, he is ready to file some papers himself. According to Contact Music, Lil Wayne is suing film executives for fraud and breach of contract over a Sundance documentary titled The Carter that was supposed to be a movie about the rappers life but instead created a "scandalous portrayal" of it.

Wayne agreed to allow the film crew to follow him around with cameras to get insight into his everyday life. The deal was that Wayne would give the final approval in determining if the film was suitable to see the light of day. Wayne's manager reviewed it in December of 2008 and suggested changes and then again in January of this year and still wasn't happy.

Well, according to sources, the film executives failed to abide by Wayne's demands and went ahead and created a film and debuted it earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. The film showed Wayne in a negative light which upset both Wayne and his manager because there was content within the film that did not get the green light from Wayne or his rep. Wayne is also suing for unfair business practices and invasion of privacy.

Well, now I want to see what the big fuss is about....

Lil Wayne is tired of Rap

If his new album Rebirth-that is due in stores in June-wasn't the first clue that Wayne no longer wanted to do rap, what was?

Wayne is on the new cover of Rolling Stone Magazine and in an interview with the mag, Wayne explained why he decided to do a Rock album.

According to Wayne, he feels he has accomplished everything a successful rapper would want out of his/her career and is ready to branch out into a new genre, preferably Rock & Roll.

"The rock s**t just comes from what my life is now. I’ve grown into this person. I just got - I’m not going to say 'so good' at what I was doing, but it became such a regularity for me that I got tired of it. And then I said, ‘You know what? I’m not going to rap on this one."
Here is where the confusion lies; Baby tells a totally different story. Baby was quoted as saying that Wayne's Rebirth album is not a Rock album at all but that it is just Wayne growing as an artist and that the beats used on a good portion of the album may be Rock inspired, but that it is still rap.

Scooby Doo mystery, is Rebirth a Rock or Rap album? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Whatever it is Wayne has stated that he is no longer interested in Rap, for now that is. I wonder how his fans feel about that..fans?

TV Appearances: Keri Hilson ft. Lil Wayne-Turnin' Me On (Jimmy Kimmel Live)

Keri Hilson performed live with Lil Wayne on Jimmy Kimmel Live. One thing is for sure, Lil Wayne and Keri have good chemistry.

Speaking of Keri, can you believe someone actually went to her album release party to hate on the child?! I'll let her tell it (catch it at the 1:08 mark)....

On the charts...
