Video: Trey Songz Performing 'Can't Be Friends' Live On The View

Trey Songz stopped by The View yesterday (December 9) to perform his song (and my favorite track) "Can't Be Friends" off of his album Passion, Pain, and Pleasure in stores now.

Trey wasn't the only guest on the show that probably had the hosts and the audience members smiling from ear to ear. Prince also stopped by for a chat and Trey spoke about how he felt when he got a chance to meet and speak with Prince backstage.

A lot of people have said that they weren't big fans of this album but I thought this was probably Trey's best work and I haven't been impressed before the release of this LP. The songs were versatile and on most of the songs, the lyrics actually said something.

I'm still warming up to Trey's live performances. To me it just seems like he's doing too much but hey everyone's performance style is different. A little bit more of a natural vibe would best suit him, in my opinion.

Review: Trey Songz Delivers On 'Passion, Pain & Pleasure' Despite What The Critics Say

Trey Songz returns with his fourth studio album Passion, Pain & Pleasure, looking to dive into the core of R&B.

I’ll be honest, when I first heard earlier this year that Trey Songz was releasing an album just 13 months after releasing his album Ready, I automatically assumed that the album was going to bomb.

We see it all the time; an artist does well and gains fame from one project. Wanting to build on that momentum, they go and rush a follow-up album instead of basking in the newfound fame they have received.

And then the reviews were published confirming exactly what I had predicted.

A few critics wrote about the same concerns I had before listening to the album, such as the album being rushed also adding that Trey’s new project wasn’t as good as his last.

After listening to Songz’s Passion, Pain & Pleasure, I was surprisingly impressed.

Listen: New Music From Trey Songz (feat. Nicki Minaj) 'Bottoms Up'

Here is new music from Trey Songz titled "Bottoms Up" featuring Nicki Minaj. The single is scheduled to appear on Trey Songz's upcoming album Passion, Pain & Pleasure in stores September 14, 2010.

The track has a club feel and will definitely be on heavy rotation on the radio. At first listen it didn't draw me in although it might differ for other people. It does have the potential to either grow on me or annoy me, only time will tell. For some reason at certain points I could have sworn I heard R. Kelly in the background.

As always, Nicki comes with her animated verse and this one is no different if not more animated. She cracks me up though, so entertaining. You got to give her credit for consistently landing guest spots on practically everyone's tracks.

Speaking of Nicki, her highly anticipated debut album is set to drop on November 23.

Video Premiere: Trey Songz 'Yo Side of The Bed'

Here is the new video from Trey Songz for his song "Yo Side of The Bed." This single appears on Trey's album Ready in stores now.

The video is very cinematic and sets up a great storyline that makes the song more interesting. I loved how Trey's camp released a teaser for the video last week. It increased anticipation and the video wasn't a disappointment.

Trey enlists the help of Keri Hilson to tell the story of an army wife that has to leave her husband - Trey - and her baby girl at home to go and fight for her country. I won't reveal the ending because I feel it is the meat of the story.

Trey even sheds a few tears....

New Music: Trey Songz 'Till The Day I Die'

Here is an unreleased track from Trey Songz titled "Till The Day I Die."

I'm not much of a Trey Songz fan, in fact I really don't like the guy, but this song is nice.

It has the old school 90's element and a sound I think works well with his voice.

Video Premiere: Trey Songz 'Neighbors Know My Name'

Here is a new video from Trey Songz for his song "Neighbors Know My Name" off of his album Ready in stores now.

Though I am really not a Trey Songz fan (at all) and am very sexed out from all this sex talk in music, I have to say that this song is hot and the video is even hotter.

Some of these videos are going to need TV ratings soon.

When I first heard this song on the album the first thing that came to mind was that it sounded like something R.Kelly would write and sing.

Definitely a good release on Trey's part.

Video Premiere: Trey Songz 'Say Aah'

Here is the rest of the short snippet of Trey Songz "Say Aah" video we got at the end of his "Invented Sex" video.

I think that I am in the minority on this, but I'm not a huge fan of this song.

The video was a little boring for me as well, it really was a continuation of what we saw nothing more nothing less.

VIDEO PREMIERE: TREY SONGZ 'I INVENTED SEX'

Here is the new video from Trey Songz for his song "I Invented Sex" off of his album Ready in stores now.

Um...soft porn anyone? Call me uptight but I was not at all impressed. First off, I am not the type of girl to get hot when seeing a man sucking and licking on camera in a music video, I think its quite nasty and tacky actually.

Secondly, all we got was a bunch of rolling around in bed with a bit of seduction via ice cubes, what happened to scenery? Seeing elongated saliva is not sexy. I hate it when male artists try too hard. Maxwell did a far better job at being sexy yet leaving enough to the imagination in his video for "Bad Habits" that co-starred Kerry Washington and they were doing just as much touching in caressing. I guess videos like this aren't targeted at women like myself, if I were still in high school or even college maybe this would have tickled my fancy a bit.

The video was way to predictable, however, it did stay true to the title of the song. If it helps, Trey's tattoos are nice.

Video Rating: A yummy C.

Video Premiere: Drake ft. Trey Songz-Successful

Here is the new video from Drake for his song "Successful" featuring Trey Songz. The song will appear on Drake's mixtape So Far Gone.

I like the video it's very laid back allowing us to get the full message of the song. I wouldn't mind seeing a collaborative album from Drake and Trey Songz, they seem to mesh well.

Video Rating: A yummy B+.

Video Premiere: Trey Songz-Brand New

Here is the new video from Trey Songz for his song "Brand New" off of his album Ready.

There is cameo fever in this video. Look close and you will see Jim Jones, Lola Luv, Shawty Lo, Fat Joe, DJ Khaled, Young Jeezy, and Drake.

Trey has been working out in all the right places but too many tattoo's for this little lady's taste. Did I miss the memo about Nuvo? Are they paying artists to place their bottles in their videos? That reminds me, I have to taste this mysterious drink.

Video Rating: A yummy B.

M.Y. Leaked Music: Trey Songz-I Need A Girl

Here is new music from Trey Songz for his song "I Need A Girl". I was expecting a little more hotness from Trey but I guess this will do.

I feel he kept it safe on this song but I know that Trey has it in him to take it there. I would love for there to be competition in the male arena. Yesterday I said we were in dire need of a top male R&B act, but silly me forgot all about Neyo who is dominating the genre right now and is shelling out hits like hot sweet potato pie.

Side Order: Love his eyes...

It's just no fun when there isn't any competition or variety in R&B. I'm rooting for you Trey but for now this is a pass.

Video: Trey Songz-Takes Time To Love

Another lovey dovey video people. Here is the new video from Trey Songz for his song "Takes Time To Love" off of the Confessions Of A Shopaholic soundtrack.

This must be the day of surprises because I never imagined Trey making a song like this for a movie like that. I see someone is on the road to becoming commercial.

That's the only way that I can explain this.

I do love Trey's voice and I hope that he gets the recognition he deserves. This song might just be his ticket to pop fame; he just better remember R&B, or we're going to have some problems.

I give this video a yummy B for Trey Songz slowly crossing over.
