Soulja Boy + 2.5 Million Twitter Followers + 13,000 Album Sales = M.I.A. Rapper

I said it once and I'll say again: the amount of followers a celebrity has does not necessarily equate to the success they can see due to said followers. I'll lay off my assessment as I don't want to pour salt on the wound.

It seems Soulja Boy is taking a much needed break from social networking as told by his MIA presence on Twitter since Tuesday, odd for someone who doesn't miss a minute to tweet. Interestingly enough, this was the same time news spread that his highly promoted album The DeAndre Way was estimated to only move 13,000 copies in its first week.

Now the only reason why this draws any attention is because of SB's follower count, a count that many music artists and celebrities alike put so much emphasis on having.

Soulja Boy has over 2 million followers and out of those 2 million, only 13,000 bought albums?! A bit embarrassing, but a reality check for all.

We just hope he's just taking a break.

[NEWS] 50 Cent, Soulja Boy Affectionately Cover XXL

50 Cent and Soulja Boy are the cover boys for XXL's November issue.

This issue will feature two separate profiles on the odd pair as well as a "Q&A roundtable discussion between the two."

As you know, Soulja Boy is gearing up to release his next album The DeAndre Way while 50...well, he's around still making money doing whatever it is that he does.

50 said in one of the quotes from the interview that if he could be another artist, just for right now, that he would be Soulja Boy.

Soulja offered up his own bromantic quote, saying that "if there wasn’t no 50 Cent, there would be no Soulja Boy."

This issue of XXL will hit newsstands November 2.

Twitterati: Soulja Boy vs. Fabolous = No, Really?!

I am starting to understand why some people refer to Twitter as the devil. There is something about the allure of the phrase "What's Happening" that encourages people to either give you TMI or receive pseudo courage that leads to  the creation of challenges they have very little chance of winning.

Here enters the "beef" between Soulja Boy and Fabolous.

Soulja Boy, You Can't Be Serious

rolleyes I can see how I could have missed the premiere of this video. Here is the new video from Soulja Boy for his song "Pretty Boy Swag."

Don't let the catchy hook fool you.

I'm not even going to write anything because the video and the song pretty much speaks for itself. My words would just be like kicking a horse while it's down.

All I have to say is that I told you this would happen from when he first came out, that is all.

TV Appearances: Soulja Boy ft. Sammie-Kiss Me Through The Phone

Here is a video of Soulja Boy and Sammie's performance on Jay Leno's late night show. I have to admit, I am impressed.

Unlike a lot of other rappers out, I was actually able to hear every word that came out of Soulja Boy's mouth, plus he was fun to watch. As for Sammie, someone has got to give that man his props for his vocal ability. He has a very nice voice that should not be classified as one that belongs to a one hit wonder.

I've been waiting for this!...but not really

Here is a video of Soulja Boy freestyling and it is a whomp whomp whomp!! Exactly what I thought.

Mr. "If I wanted to put out a dope album where I lyrically put it down, I could" did a freestyle that my 10 year old brother could have out done right on the spot after eating his Eggo's.

Not impressed.

However, I give Soulja kudos for effort and plus, his back story really does touch my heart..I can't help it yall! I can be a little softy lol but please Soulja if you really want to be taken seriously start reading some songwriting books, start practicing in front of your mirror, or hire a ghost writer (absolutely last resort) and bring it!

And if all fails, think about the little engine that could... "I think I can, I think I can..."

Soulja Boy loves the kids

So, Soulja Boy wants to be a positive role model but not a role model, but a role model :-) Here is a video of Soulja informing everyone of his image change. It probably would have been a little better if he wasn't reading off of a Que card that someone else wrote but hey, you got to take what you can get. Call me slow, but I had no idea that Crank Dat was about you know what-ing on a females back and sticking a sheet on top of it; clearly I was distracted by the dance, bad Soulja Boy bad! And I am still not over that "thanks to the slave masters for bringing us to America and away from Africa" comment..SMH. Ignorance is the worse mental diarrhea.

Soulja Boy Tell' Em ft. Sammie "Kiss Me Thru The Phone"

Here is the new video from Soulja Boy entitled "Kiss Me Thru The Phone". It features Sammie who has clearly grown up to be relatively good looking. Its a shame his career didn't take off...you win some you lose some. This is a little different for Soulja Boy, I'm not crazy about it but I don't hate it.

I can tell he is trying to make that transition from teenage rapper to grown and sexy taking off his shirt and ish...may I have permission to feed him? It looks like his jewelry weighs more than him! I never knew he had so many tattoos! Not the biz. Sorry kiddies there are no special dances for this song I think superman is gone for now (thank god). I still say anyone over the age of 20 should not partake in that dance, it just looks ridiculous.

I give this video a yummy B- for Souljah Boy taking a shot at picking up on the grown and sexy swag...you're almost there, just please no more dances...PLEASE!

On the charts...
