Music Rumors: Brandy dropped from Epic Records?!

According to sources this rumor is true but ask Brandy and she will tell you that this is a total lie; in fact, according to her twitter she vents "#notagoodlook when so called journalist spread false rumors without the facts:) Don’t believe everything you read or see!"

Black Voices alleges that singer Brandy was recently dropped from Epic Records due to low sales of her comeback album Human.

Earlier this year, rumors started to swirl around the net that Brandy was preparing to sign a deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. Word around the way is that-that deal was flushed due to creative differences, yikes!

"BV Buzz has learned exclusively that the 30-year-old singer was just dropped by her label Epic Records because of the lackluster sales of from her comeback CD, 'Human.'...The former 'Moesha' star had been represented in recent months by Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management. The McComb, Miss.-bred singer's relationship with Roc Nation supposedly dissolved because of "creative differences."

At least they were nice enough to look for a new label home for her, if this is true. Hopefully Brandy can find a label to continue putting out music. If all fails she could always go independent, I hear it's the new black. I wonder what the "creative differences" were? I was really looking forward to that rumored duet with her and Beyonce, oh well.

Brandy wants Keyshia Cole with Ray J

This little audio from DJ Mami Chula's radio show had me giggling this early AM. Brandy stopped by the Atlanta radio station to set the record straight about Ray J and Whitney Houston and flexed her cupid bow and arrow on who she would want Ray J to get with.

Brandy did not hesitate to put her little brother on blast about his supposed relationship with Whitney by saying that there isn't anything going on between the two, and that they are just really good friends; I think we all knew that already, that whole ish oozed of publicity stunt.



The conversation kind of went left when asked who she would like to see Ray with; in which Brandy replied that she would like to see her baby bro with Ms. G. Fab, Keyshia Cole; random much?

Hmmm...OK Brandy, you already know that Keyshia would make Ray her b*tch but whatev.

Brandy returns to TV

Brandy who was well known for her stint as "Danesha Turrell" on the show Thea but more so for her starring role as "Moesha" in the show Moesha, is now returning back to the realms of TV sitcom.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brandy will star in This Little Piggy; a comedy pilot that follows two brothers and a sister who move back in together. Brandy will play the youngest brother's high maintenance wife.

Good to see Brandy return to TV but not sure how it will work out. Brandy was a little ungrateful for the success of Moesha; getting upset when people would take her character as"Moesha" to be her true self.

Personally, I get why she would be upset simply because she wasn't anything like the character; but instead of just going with the flow, she would get all pissy when someone would compare her to the role. You never saw Will Smith get like that about his character on Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. She even said her role as "Moesha" ruined her life! Whatev, I guess she's over it and finally realized what her calling is.

No word on when the comedy sitcom will air.

Music Rumors: Jay-Z gets ready to sign Brandy?!

So, it seems like everyday I look in my inbox there is an e-mail about Jay-Z signing Brandy or the question of if Jay-Z is going to sign Brandy.

According to sources, Jay-Z is preparing to sign Brandy to his new record label Roc Nation.

Now, there isn't a definite word on if this music rumor is true but if it is that would be a great look for Brandy. If she can dig up that drive she had in her younger days she could come out on top. But then again it would probably be best if she could watch her p's and q's because sometimes you can't trust certain people.

There was a rumor sometime back that she and Beyonce were doing a duet. That would be quite hard to imagine because Brandy and Beyonce have very different voices in pitch, sound, and lets face it Bey's vibrato could cause ripples in water. We'll see how this works out.

Ludacris was on Chelsea Lately where he spoke about the album (which is fire by the way) and his charity. I surely do adore Luda! When he does interviews, he knows exactly how to put the hosts on the spot by asking them uncomfortable questions...loves it!

Brandy "Long Distance"

Brandy is back!! The video is hot, the lyrics are great, and the melody is on point. At first when the video started I was thinking oh joy..another black and white video?! *yawn* Every video that premiered last month had to be in black and white!...its like the new color. But then it changed up a bit towards the end of the video making it a creative concept.

I liked the subtle half-nakedness;there was skin and fishnets, not too much to be overly-sexed but enough to leave to the imagination.

I give this video a yummy A for its soul touching vibes, kudos Brandy! :-)
