Sundae Kind Of Love: India Arie "Ready For Love"

I am ready for love
Why are you hiding from me
I'd quickly give my freedom
To be held in your captivity

I am ready for love
All of the joy and the pain
And all the time that it takes
Just to stay in your good grace
Lately I've been thinking
Maybe you're not ready for me
Maybe you think I need to learn maturity
They say watch what you ask for
Cause you might receive
But if you ask me tomorrow
I'll say the same thing

I am ready for love
Would you please lend me your ear?
I promise I won't complain
I just need you to acknowledge I am here

If you give me half a chance
I'll prove this to you
I will be patient, kind, faithful and true
To a man who loves music
A man who loves art
Respect's the spirit world
And thinks with his heart

I am ready for love
If you'll take me in your hands
I will learn what you teach
And do the best that I can

I am ready for love
Here with an offering of
My voice
My Eyes
My soul
My mind

Tell me what is enough
To prove I am ready for love

I am ready

India.Arie covers Jet

And looks beautiful. She sure is glowing, I guess her new man is handling business. I wonder if that happens to be Musiq Soulchild?

India's album, Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics is such an in dept album that everyone needs to add to their collection. Her lyrics teach you things you've never thought to think about; plus, her voice is super soothing.

Side Order: This is the most creative cover I've ever seen from Jet. It seems like magazine's these days are stepping their cover art game up. Me likey!

M.Y. Album Review: India Arie-Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics

India Arie is back and we can all breathe with joy. She brings with her a new album that hit stores yesterday that simply speaks the truth.

In this gift to the masses, India goes on a cultural musical exploration and gives us music that feeds the soul and makes us think. India's voice flows swiftly like water on ice filling your ears with yummy lyrical goodness, all the while stimulating your mind and your undeniable inner empathy.

Every track tells a story as well as holds a lot of meaning. I can definitely sense her earning herself at least 5 Grammy nominations in 2010.

M.Y. Favorite Tracks

  • Ghetto
  • Chocolate High
  • He Heals Me
  • Pearls
  • Yellow
  • Better Way
  • The Cure

"The Cure" has a line that sticks out to me more than any other line on the album, "Love is the cure for hate". That piece of lyric is priceless and speaks volumes. Thank the heavens for India Arie. She uses her voice to tell a story many of us have never heard or cared to know and delivers it with a sound that is soothing to the ears and quenches a music lovers thirst.

Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics is certified...

Video: India Arie ft. Musiq Soulchild-Chocolate High

mmmm I just love this song and these artists! Here is the new video for India Aire's song "Chocolate High" featuring the oh so soulful Musiq Soulchild. The song is off of India's up coming album Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics.

The video is very simple and has a little humor to it. Plus, it combines my two favorite things...

For one it mentions...

Yea I know you liking that right there :-)...

And secondly, I've always wanted these two to do a song together. Their voices separately are so amazing and together they are phenomenal. What a treat!

I give this video a yummy B+ for providing sweet music to my ears, India is back!
