I've always felt there was something special about Christina Aguilera but she always seemed to be in the shadow of other artists. When she first made her debut she was widely compared to Britney Spears and now with her return she has been compared to Lady Gaga every time she blinks her eye.

Christina Aguilera performed on the Today show earlier today. Standing as the first performance after her performance at the MTV Movie Awards, the singer performed in short red shorts with black shimmery tights, a leather jacket, and a white T-shirt with a pair of red lips smack dab in the center.

I guess we are all getting used to this new style of hers which is why people are on attack mode. But I love me some Christina Aguilera, her voice is amazing, and I know with time some people will gravitate towards her.

Oh, and I love how she's making the red lips mic stand her signature.

Popcorn Moments: Britney Spears, Madonna, & Christina Aguilera's 2003 MTV VMA Performance

Who could forget the infamous MTV Awards kiss?

In 2003 Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera took to the stage to pay tribute to Madonna. The two biggest pop sensations at the time wore a wedding dress that resembled the wedding dress worn by Madonna when she performed her song "Like A Virgin" at the very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984.

Madonna would later join Britney and Christina on stage to perform her song "Hollywood" and would later seal the performance with a kiss. No one really remembers what happened after the kiss, some people didn't even acknowledge Christina getting sloppy seconds and we completely forgot that Missy Elliot had a part in it all, but the performance was a certified popcorn moment.

And please pause the video at 3:09 to get Justin Timberlake's side-eye. Notice after the kiss him mean mugging..too priceless.

NEWS // Christina Aguilera Postpones Tour Till 2011 -- Because Of Album Leak?

Sad news for Christina Aguilera stans...ahem I mean fans. Christina has reportedly postponed her upcoming tour that was scheduled to kick off June 8th. A statement from tour producer Live Nation stated that Christina would have to put the tour on hold to attend to her responsibilities surrounding Burlesque - a new film Christina is set to star in.

This summer looks like it will be dedicated to the return of music. VH1 has announced plans to give Christina Aguilera fans a night full of...well...Christina by way of VH1 Storyteller.

Christina's VH1 Storyteller will treat fans to a collection of Christina's hit songs from the past via a live performance. In addition to that, Christina will perform a few new songs off of her forthcoming album Bionic.

Hopefully, her performance won't be toned down, I wouldn't mind a great performance with a big voiced singer...in fact, scream in my ear please. I know I complained about it in the past but at this point it will actually be a relief from the off-pitch singing some singers have been practicing.

Christina's VH1 Storyteller is scheduled to premiere Sunday, June 13.

Is Christina Aguilera toning down her talent to stay relevant?

While I was reading a recent interview with Christina Aguilera's longtime friend and collaborator Linda Perry from the group 4 Non Blondes, one part of her sit down stuck out the most to me.

The songwriter was discussing what we will be getting from Christina Aguilera on her new album Bionic. This new album marks the first album from Christina in 4 years. Her last release was Back To Basics in 2006

Christina Aguilera announces new album plans

Christina Aguilera has announced plans for her new album which is scheduled to drop in March of this year.

We haven't seen Christina since Back To Basics with a brief check-in with her greatest hits album Keeps Gettin Better: A Decade of Hits, so of course fans are excited to see what the petite lady has cooked up.

Because she tends to change styles every album, I for one am very interested in what she will give us. I'm thinking electro-pop; for some reason I think that will be the new sound for 2010.
