Video Premiere: Dr. Dre (Feat. Akon & Snoop Dogg) 'Kush'

Here is the new music video from Dr. Dre for his song "Kush" that features Snoop Dogg and Akon. "Kush" is said to be the lead single off of Dre's highly anticipated album Detox. Good luck wfinding out when it will come out...

The video is hot and so is the single, as sinful as it may be. For most of the video, Dre, Snoop and Akon are the only people in motion while partygoers and half-naked women are frozen in time, raining cash and all.

There were a few cliche moments for the veterans of rap but the video is creative. There's something very nostalgic about seeing Snoop and Dre together in a video again.

I think most fans are just happy to get some kind of sign that the Hip Hop urban legend known as Detox might finally be on its way.

Video Premiere: Michael Jackson (Feat. Akon) 'Hold My Hand'

Here is the new video for Michael Jackson's single "Hold My Hand" that features Akon. This stands as MJ's first posthumous music video.

The video is pretty simple and the message is a familiar one that many fans have known Michael to display. There are moving montages of Michael hitting his signature stances and dance moves as well as photos that captured the late legend.

I like the song and think the video is a good fit for the message the track delivers.

Akon Says Lady Gaga Is A Blessing

There is no doubt that Lady Gaga has come in like a silent storm and has successfully taken over the genre of pop, crazy fashion and all.

What most people don't know is that pop's problem child is the spawn of Akon....in other words, Gaga is signed to hip-hop artist Akon's label KonLive under Interscope Records' umbrella...ella, ella...of course.

That's right, we have Akon to thank for all of Gaga's, Gaga.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Akon talked Lady Gaga and what her success has done for him thanks to his gut feeling that told him to give her a shot and now he is thanking his lucky stars that he did.

"Yo, I want to sign that right there. She needs to be under my umbrella. Jimmy was like, 'Yeah, whatever you want. Take her. Let's get it done.' And she just blossomed into a super megastar, man."

"She's pretty much retired me. She was definitely a blessing. She came at the right moment. I'm glad I believed in her, boy. That goes to show you, if you believe in something strong enough, it will pay off."

I guess opposites really do attract.

All of these ode's to New York is so touching. All this time I thought we got lost on the map, nice to see that people are still representing.

Video Premiere: Fat Joe ft. Akon- One

Joey crack is back! Here is the new video from Fat Joe for his song "One" featuring Akon off of Joe's album Jealous One's Still Envy 2 (J.O.S.E. 2)

The song is hot. It has a nice little lovers ring to it and it's a relief from the I-got-all-this-money-you-wish-you-had songs.

It just seems like all of the rappers who careers 50 claimed to have ended, are just reemerging one by one. I don't know fif, maybe you losing just a little bit of that mojo. We'll see.

Video Rating: A yummy B.

Side Order: Speaking of 50, Can you believe that he released Rick's daughter's mother sex tape?! Too much....

Video Premiere: Lionel Richie ft. Akon-Just Go

This was a real head scratcher. Here is the new video from Lionel Richie for his song "Just Go" featuring Akon. I found this pair up to be just a bit random but kudos to Lionel for reemerging on to the scene.

I am a classic R&B fan to the fullest extent and I love me some Lionel but this right here is a fail. First off, I disagree with anyone that says that someone is too old to be an entertainer because James Brown performed down to his very last breath so that notion is bogus; that's just America's sick obsession with youth. However, I do feel if you are going to continue making music it is very important to make music that is age appropriate.

Side Order: Kudos again to Lionel for being in his 50's and lacking crows feet and wrinkles, what is your regimen?!

Hearing Lionel say "chill" in the hook made me cringe a bit. It's always best when artists can stay true to self. A lot of the producers out today-if not all-are sampling his music along with other R&B artists that made music in the 70's and 80's. It would be great to hear him re-create a sound like that or do a Luther Vandross and put out a song like "Can I Take You Out Tonight", now that song was hot!

I give this video a yummy C+ for Lionel's attempt to get down with his bad self. Did you see his mean bop at the start of the video? Serious.

Aubrey O'Day close to inking solo deal

In more random news regarding our controversial ex-bad girl Aubrey O'Day, sources are reporting that Aubrey is close to signing a solo deal and is said to work on the new album with Akon.

Now, Akon is very familiar with the pop scene as evident with his artist's roster for his record label including Colby O'Donis and my favorite Ms. FiestySexy mama Lady GaGa.

This news comes as quite a shock though, because when Aubrey spoke to MTV about the break up with Danity Kane she failed to mention that she was venturing out to become a solo artist. There had been talk about a possible solo album from her but those were left as being just rumors.

This will be quite interesting given the fact that in the last episode of Making The Band 4, Diddy said he wasn't letting anyone out of their contracts, with a very evil look and a threatening blank stare.

Will Aubrey succeed as a solo artist? Maybe. She's already done Playboy, so she has the sex appeal on lock and you know how some people are drawn towards a sexually "liberated" woman; She might just be able to get by on her looks and sex alone...appeal that is *snikers*.

Video: Akon ft Colby O'Donis & Kardinal Offishall-Beautiful

Here is the new video from Akon ft Colby O'Donis & Kardinal Offishall for his single "Beautiful" off of his album Freedom in stores now.

I see what Akon's goal was with this album. It was to cross over into the pop market and to dominate the charts and I think he might just do it. Akon is a really good producer and although I have a love/hate relationship with his voice, his music is so catchy and stays on the mind.

The uni brow eyeshadow on the girls in the video was driving me practically psycho though, but it's still creative. Who is Colby O'Donis again?

I give this video a yummy B for pop crossover effort.

Side Order: Wouldn't it be funny if Akon became a pop artist? I could see him doing a song with Britney Spears.

On the charts...
