Mariah Carey Returning To The Studio + Cast In New Tyler Perry Movie

Mariah Carey's manager recently dropped some hints about Mariah's plans for her musical future. Seeing that her last album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel did not perform well on the charts and her remix album was shelved, it seems like Mariah is inspired to dust herself off and try again.

As her manager Chris Lightly puts it:

"We've released a few of Mariah's hot remixes on iTunes and Mariah's back in the studio working on some new surprises." source.

Not sure what we can expect from Mariah but I pray that it isn't some pop, Hip-Hop sound because it just doesn't agree with her soft voice. And the screaming that she has adopted lately is really a no go.

On a more brighter note, director/producer/screenwriter Tyler Perry revealed on the red carpet for the premiere of his new movie Why Did I Get Married Too that he has cast Mariah in his new movie For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf.

Other artists that will appear in the film will be Janet Jackson and Macy Gray.

The movie, which is based on a thought provoking play, is scheduled to begin shooting in NYC in June and has an anticipated release date set for late 2010 early 2011.

Janet Jackson will perform live in the UK

According to various reports, Janet Jackson will perform at the UK's Capital FM Jingle Ball on December 6th.

Janet has been on her grind lately. It seems like her brief taste of performing again for Michael's MTV tribute has jump started her hunger, great for her!

The event will be held at London's O2 Arena. Ne-Yo, Jordin Sparks, and Lady Gaga are among the other artist that are scheduled to also take to the stage.

Janet will release a two-disc greatest hits album on November 17th. This will be the second greatest hits album from Janet as she released her first in 1995.

I can't wait for a Janet tour in the states, she always knows how to wow a crowd.

Cassie sets album release date

An album release date has been announced for Cassie and her album Electro Love. The album has a tentative release date of November 24th according to HitsDoubleDaily.

All I can say is we will see. Something tells me Electro Love will get no love until the start of next year, if she's lucky. It is being said that Cassie is describing the album as being Janet Jackson-inspired. It will have the elements of sexy, sensual, and classy. Well, Cassie has the sexy down pack.

I personally despise when artist compare their work with other artists, especially established artists. Why not just say your album will be you and just do you? We don't want another Janet album, Janet does Janet quite well but thanks.

Speaking of Janet, I came across a video of her performance at the VMA's in '93 when she performed "That's The Way Love Goes" and "If". I was blown away by how in sync she was with the dancers...it was as if they were trying to keep up with her. Can't wait for her to release her album!

Analyze This: Why are we still talking about Janet's nipple?!

Seriously, why are we still talking about it? The infamous wardrobe malfunction is back and with a vengeance. The performance that was done by Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in which he snatched off a piece of her clothing that exposed her bosom ~snicker~ has now been brought up yet again.

According to reports, the Supreme Court ordered a federal appeals court today to re-examine it's ruling in favor of CBS Corp in conjunction with Janet's wardrobe malfunction. In 2004, Janet and Justin took to the stage during half-time at Super Bowl XXXVIII to give a performance worth remembering and boy did we. At the conclusion of Justin's song "Rock Your Body" he snatched off a piece of Janet's wardrobe to reveal her very pierced nipple all the while singing "I'll have you naked by the end of this song". The FCC went insane along with Tivo, and America was left with their jaws to the floor. At the end of it all, CBS was fined $550,000

Granted the performance was extremely inappropriate given the channel; why is the nipple situation the vein of Janet's existence? America is so strange when it comes to sex. They love talking about it and have done everything except copyright the term "sex sells" but when an a** or tit is shown it's like an abomination. It's funny because the KY Jelly commercial plays during commercial breaks for Jeopardy and we all know what KY is for and it is not used to remove make-up.

I was surprised during the performance, not to see Janet's boob, but to see that her nipple was pierced; she sure does give new meaning to "Ms. Jackson if your nasty". TV is so different today as compared to TV's past. Once upon a time, the words "Bitch" and "Damn" could not be heard on a national television show and now it is a must in the script.

America acts as though they have never seen a nipple before. Did we not nurse from one when we were newborns? So is it not possible to have the image of a nipple etched in our memory banks from birth? Now, I know the basis of people's discontent with the exposing performance was the fact that it was being aired live and there were children watching the program since the Super Bowl is known to be a family event, but am I wrong to be disappointed in the parental units naiveness? Chances are the kids have seen much more than a nipple in their time it's called school, I'm just sayin'.

One of the things that has lost focus, is why Justin Timberlake left Janet to fend for herself as he saved his career by apologizing on behalf of himself and no one else; now that was just wrong and a controversy on it's own.

What are your thoughts, can Janet ever be forgiven for her wardrobe malfunction? Do you think the situation still deserves this much attention?

On the charts...
