Mariah Carey Returning To The Studio + Cast In New Tyler Perry Movie

Mariah Carey's manager recently dropped some hints about Mariah's plans for her musical future. Seeing that her last album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel did not perform well on the charts and her remix album was shelved, it seems like Mariah is inspired to dust herself off and try again.

As her manager Chris Lightly puts it:

"We've released a few of Mariah's hot remixes on iTunes and Mariah's back in the studio working on some new surprises." source.

Not sure what we can expect from Mariah but I pray that it isn't some pop, Hip-Hop sound because it just doesn't agree with her soft voice. And the screaming that she has adopted lately is really a no go.

On a more brighter note, director/producer/screenwriter Tyler Perry revealed on the red carpet for the premiere of his new movie Why Did I Get Married Too that he has cast Mariah in his new movie For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf.

Other artists that will appear in the film will be Janet Jackson and Macy Gray.

The movie, which is based on a thought provoking play, is scheduled to begin shooting in NYC in June and has an anticipated release date set for late 2010 early 2011.
