[NEWS] Ja Rule To Serve 2 Years In Jail On Gun Charges

According to reports, Ja Rule has reached a plea deal on gun charges that stemmed from his July 2007 arrest -- the same time Lil Wayne was arrested for being in possession of a gun after a show in New York.

The plea deal was reached earlier today when Ja Rule stood before a judge in a Manhattan courtroom and plead guilty to the charges.

In response to the news, Rule tweeted, "Minor setback for a major comeback."

Ja Rule is scheduled to appear in court in February for sentencing.

I'm so bored with the cliches...

NEWS // Trial Date Set For Ja Rule's Gun Case

A date has been set for Ja Rule's gun case that stems from an incident that dates back to 3-years ago.

If you can remember, the rapper was arrested in July 2007 after a semiautomatic gun was found by police in his car.

Ja Rule had previously requested to have a hearing for the scientific issues surrounding DNA evidence in regard to the gun but that was turned down by the judge.

The trial date is set for August 18, 2010 in NYC.

The last place you want to get caught with an illegal gun is here in NYC. They say it's a 3 years mandated sentence but we've seen rappers get less with good lawyers (ahem, Lil Wayne).

The good news here is that Ja Rule is reportedly working on a new movie! Gotta take the good with the bad, right?

Lloyd says goodbye to the Inc

My, how the mighty have fallen. It looks like the only person The Inc has now is Ja Rule because R&B singer Lloyd has turned in his papers. In a press release sent out to a number of sites, effective like yesterday, Lloyd is no longer an artist under The Inc.

In the press release it stated that Lloyd was looking for a brand new direction in his career and The Inc is not one of them. Now, don't go jumping to conclusions, Lloyd assures that there is no bad blood between he and Irv this is just a move that he feels is appropriate for him and his career.

Can't say this is a big surprise. Irv has been struggling to get the company back to it's days of success ever since the whole money laundering trial that rocked Hip-Hop, so I knew the seams would start to give way sometime in the future. I wonder if Irv is kicking himself for booting Ashanti from the label? Oh well, do you think there is hope for The Inc with Ja's new song?

Maybe if this was from a brand new artist it would have flown under the radar, but I think a good majority of us are over Ja Rule. This is not a bad song, but if he wants to reclaim his thrown he needs to come with that new, new ish.

Ja Rule talks 50 Cent + says he busted his tail!

Just one pointer Ja, if you are going to act hard and gully it might help if you could discard of those sparkle glasses you keep twiddling with, I'm just sayin'. Apparently he whipped 50's tail some time ago, I wonder why that didn't make headlines? Catch it at the 2:29 mark.

Either way, it looks as though Ja Rule is about to re-enter the scene again; he gives new meaning to the saying, when you fall down get back up dust yourself off and try again. Hey! Maybe all the 50 haters can ban together and put out a full album dissing 50 and it could be released under Def Jam South being that DJ Khaled is President now; you know how he likes to put 15 people on one track, it works out perfectly...

Side Order: I see the "yes men" are in full effect in the video.

On the charts...
