M.Y. Album Spotlight: John Legend-Get Lifted

John Legend's Get Lifted which was released in 2004, is an album that deserves a spot in every one's CD rack.

Filled with timeless singles and music appropriate for all occasions, Get Lifted was a certified classic album that propelled John's career to the top. This is the type of album that can be played from beginning to end without the need or urge to skip a track.

What was impressive was the fact that this was John's very first album. The very popular "Ordinary People" still plays on the radio and is a favorite among everyone. Notable tracks are "Ordinary People", "Used To Love U", "Number One", and "So High".

Personally, I loved every song on the album but listing them all would be silly when you can just listen to it. Check out the album below.

M.Y. Album Spotlight of the week: Jay-Z-Resonable Doubt

It is looking pretty Brooklyn this week on M.Y.! The album spotlight this week goes to the Brooklyn don himself, Jay-Z.

This album really showed that Jay was ahead of his time and definitely had staying power. He entered Hip Hop like a black mafia prince with this album and his premiere style. Every song on this album is worthy of play and took first place for jams that deserved to be played at high volumes in many a rides.

The classic "Can't Knock The Hustle", "Can I Live", and my personal favorite "Ain't No N*gga" were a few of the tracks that had people considering to make him the new King of Brooklyn, but we already knew that-that spot had been taken.

M.Y.'s Album Spotlight: Erykah Badu-Mama's Gun

This week's album spotlight goes to Ms. Erykah Badu and her album Mama's Gun. I really dig this woman's style and what's best is the fact that she puts out quality and authentic material. Mama's Gun was released in 2000 and was one of Badu's best works.

The album features the popular "Bag Lady" and my favorite "Orange Moon". Erykah is one of the queens of Neo-Soul music and she does it great justice. Check out the album and enjoy!
