[NEWS] Rihanna's SNL 'Shy Ronnie' Skit Gets Emmy Nod

The nominees for the 2010 Emmy Awards were announced yesterday to an interesting discovery.

Typically, the award ceremony caters to those in TV and film but there are categories that fall in the music realm.

Here enters the "Shy Ronnie" skit that aired late last year starring Rihanna as herself.

The song is nominated in the "Outstanding Music and Lyrics" category. Though Rihanna's name doesn't appear in the list of nominees, it is interesting the influence she made on the nomination.

The "Shy Ronnie" song was written by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone with music by Aleric Banks.

Speaking of Rihanna, the singer has reportedly been forced to cancel two more tour dates; one in Denver and the other in Indianapolis. According to MTV, the cancellation comes as a result of low ticket sales - a fate that other acts like the Jonas Brothers and American Idols Live have also suffered.
