The Dream Says That Ciara's Upcoming Album Is Her Last Shot At Pop Stardom

The Dream recently sat down and spoke with Parlour Magazine about his marriage, new daughter and revealed some details regarding his forthcoming album Love King.

He discarded the rumors that suggested that he and wife Christina Milian were having marital issues and kind of admitted to being a dead beat dad (but not in those words exactly) just in time for Father's Day.

When asked if the album that he is currently working on with Ciara is her last shot at stardom, The Dream admitted that it was.

In his words,

Speaking of producing you’ve got a track on Drake’s “Thank Me Later” LP called “Shut It Down” and you’ve just finished writing Ciara’s entire new album too. Is this really her last shot at pop stardom?

I think so. You only get so many times to, and I won’t say fail, but not achieve. There’s an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she’s achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed. But now she’s back on the horse. When she first came out I, like Lil Jon and Jazee Pha, understood exactly who she was. It was that whole Atlanta vibe because if i’m not Atlanta, no one is. I knew if I had a chance to get with her creatively, there’s a specific type of swagger that she’s got. Tricky and I did her whole album, but it’s not all shallow songs like “Ride.” There’s play time but there’s substance too, it’s a great listen.

I agree with him 100% and if you follow Musically Yummy closely you know that I am not the biggest The Dream fan...at all (nothing personal, it's all about the music and me no likes his).

This IS Ciara's last chance at showing that she has what it takes to be a major artist that consistently delivers classic albums. The Evolution was a phenomenal LP and she was sitting on top of the world with it. But then, she let it all get to her head and switched up the style that was working just fine for her, very well I might add.

At this point she has a lot to prove, but that's great! Having that type of pressure is what is needed to churn out a hit album.

We all know she has the potential to do so.

i been looking for your blog... your the chick thats on ondemand of music choice. I love Ciara I been a fan since 2004. I personally dont think that the pop sound was her idea. I really think that was the label. Im glad she is coming back, and i do feel like the dream has not right to talk about anybodys stardom, i mean he wasnt in french vougue let alone endorsed my addias. but if they been know each other for like 10 years, and she is his sister like he be saying on twitter. Do you think she really want you to put her shit on the table like that. You put preasure on your work thats going to take up most of the album, and then a 10 year friendship. I mena you used to eat kfc at your house when she was 14, get real.. DREAM. Just get loveking going on the music instead of putting Ciara name in ya mouth to get hits.
GOODBYE !!!!!!

I agree with the both of you. The only reason why The Dream's opinion won't hold much merit is because he hasn't really accomplished much himself. But you know what they say, it's easy to be a critic...

I do agree with what he says about this being Ciara's last shot at stardom. Not her last shot in the sense that she can't redeem herself if she happens to flop again but her last chance to really show people that she can and will consistently put out hot sh*t.

It's like a show and tell show with music these days. If you're not showing that you can put up people aren't going to pay much attention after that. The paparazzi photo's can hold up but for so long before people start asking "where's the good music?"
