M.I.A. Slams Lady Gaga For Stealing Her Style: 'She's Not Progressive, But She's A Good Mimic'

So I guess the popular honeymoon is over....

Lady Gaga has come under fire via eclectic artist M.I.A. who claims that Lady Gaga stole her style and that she is nothing more than a biting gimmic who lacks versatility.

In a recent interview with New York Mag, M.I.A. unleashes her opinions on Gaga saying that the "Poker Face" singer is a Grace Jones and Madonna remake.

"I don’t know. Again, there’s Lady Gaga — people say we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I f—ing do! That’s a talent and she’s got a great team behind her, but she’s the industry last’s stab at making itself important — saying, ‘You need our money behind you, the endorsements, the stadiums’ Respect to her, she’s keeping a hundred thousand people in work, but my belief is: Do It Yourself."

Ouch!

I was definitely a Lady Gaga fanatic with the release of The Fame. I loved the look and the music because it was so catchy and creative. The Lady Gaga that I see now is a little too weird for my taste and the music has become a little stale.

Never felt that she was a remake of the artists that M.I.A. listed, I just felt like she was inspired by those acts as every artists is.

Do you know how long I have been waiting for this comment section to open up?? Anyway, I think that Lady Gaga stole alot of her style from different artists. If you notice, when she was just starting out she had a normal look, now she is using her gimmicks to gain popularity
