Rihanna proves that scandal sells just as much as sex

The all too familiar phrase "sex sells" is so very true but scandal sells even more. According to the RIAA, Rihanna's single "Disturbia" that appears on her album Good Girl Gone Bad-the same album that has been released three times-has officially gone 3x platinum amidst her personal drama.

Seems like having to sing or perform is no longer a necessity in acquiring a large amount of downloads or record sales just as long as you have something very controversial going on in your life you are practically good to go.

Rihanna has had success prior to her soap opera filled installment of One Chrianna To Live, but it just seems like the real reason why her album has sold is because of her excessive photo ops shopping at the most luxurious boutiques in NYC and LA, eating at the most upscale restaurants, and her ordeal with Chris Brown. Congratulations are in order nonetheless. Hopefully we can see more of Rihanna with the release of a new CD or even a movie, anything concrete will do.
