Aretha Franklin is unhappy with Inauguration performance

Mama Aretha, the legendary soul singer with so much umph she could out sing a choir is a little bitter about her inauguration performance at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony, January 20th of this year.

Aretha sang "My Counrty Tis' Of Thee" with a whole lot of passion..and...well Arethaness; and although it could have been a little more toned down it added to the amazing energy at the event. However, Aretha doesn't think so....

"Everyone else pre-recorded... I should have pre-recorded! I didn't even know they had pre-recorded until I heard it on TV later...I just wasn't happy with my performance that morning. I just rushed into the studio to do the commemorative, and 40 or 50 years from now people can play it for themselves".

Aretha blames the cold weather and pre-show nerves on her performance that she hated.

Mama Aretha, aren't you being just a little bit diva-ish? All of us that day, were so happy to see the first African-American/White President get into office and all you can think about is your song...stop it.

Contrary to anything, it really wasn't about you that day but if it makes you feel any better (since you are one of my favorites) it wasn't as bad as you think; plus, that big ol' hat you wore that day are selling like hot cakes!
