[NEWS] Lauryn Hill Announces North American Tour Dates

An early Christmas gift has arrived for the music lovers in all of us, preferably those who are nostalgic and still mumble Lauryn Hill when quizzed about who they think is one of the best.

Billboard reports that Lauryn Hill has announced tour dates for her intimate North American tour that will see the reclusive singer kicking off her first show as soon as next Monday (December 27).

Hill revealed in a statement that she "may never play venues of this size again," practically putting the nail on the speculation that those tickets will sell like hot cakes.

The set list will primarily be made up of  songs from Lauryn's Grammy award-winning LP The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

The "Ex Factor" singer's tour will start in New York at Highline Ballroom and wind down in Montclair, New Jersey February 4th.

Lauryn Hill Wows Crowd At 'Rock The Bells' In California [Videos]

I'm warning you guys from now that so long as Lauryn Hill is doing sporadic random performances, please believe there will be a spot on this here blog for her. I've been waiting too long feeling like a child that had her clothes pack waiting to be picked up only to be told said person isn't showing up.

Now that they have decided to show up, it's time to play!

Moving on...

Lauryn Hill performed at Rock the Bells in San Bernadino, California over the weekend and thanks to some shaky videos from concertgoers, we get to see Ms. Hill in action. The videos aren't the best, but this is the best we could do folks.

Some of the songs performed by Lauryn were "Lost Ones", "Turn Your Lights Down Low", "Ex-Factor", and "Zion" to name a few.

Check out some of her performances after the jump.

[NEWS] Lauryn Hill Debuts On Charts For The First Time In 10 Years

Seems like everyone is having Lauryn Hill fever because your girl is back on the charts!

According to Billboard.com, Lauryn Hill's single "Repercussions" has officially made its debut on the Hot Hip Hop/R&B charts making this Lauryn's first charted single in 10 years.

The last single from Lauryn that charted was "Turn Your Lights Down Low" - a single released in 1999 via the soundtrack for my third favorite movie The Best Man Soundtrack. The single featured Bob Marley and peaked at #49.

"Repercussions" is currently sitting at #94 and surely when she makes her highly anticipated appearance at this year's Rock The Bells (scheduled to touch down in NYC August 28, 2010) the single will climb.

Whats that you say? I'm kind of stanning?! Whatever, it's Lauryn dammit...

Listen: Lauryn Hill 'Repercussions'

Dear Lauryn,

Thank you for this. To be clear, I would have taken a recorded track of just you breathing so long as it was from you.

Sincerely,

Samantha...

Here is new music from Lauryn Hill titled "Repercussions." No one is sure if this is an official first single or if it is a demo and to be honest, I really don't care where it's from or where it will end up (unless of course it ends up on an album, I would lose my mind), I'm just thrilled that she's released something!

Is There A Lauryn Hill Comeback In The Works?

Many of us have been practically begging for Lauryn Hill to make a return to music. I will refrain from sounding like a broken record on the hmmm-ok talent that is ever so big in entertainment today, I will instead say that the biz is missing Lauryn Hill terribly.

Women's History Month: Honoring Lauryn Hill

In honor of Women's History month that honors the accomplishments and contributions women make in the world, MusicallyYummy.com will be honoring the female artists of Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B that have contributed music and other forms of inspiration that has revolutionized their genres for the best.

Kicking off the honoring of 2010 is Lauryn Hill. Lauryn's voice is serially captivating and her style is so original. As a break-out artist of the super hip-hop group The Fugees, fans of both sexes gravitated towards the free spirited rapper/singer because she was very personable via her lyrics and simply her personality.

M.Y. Song Of The Week; Lauryn Hill-Ex Factor

Lauryn Hill really came through on her debut solo album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, which went on to earn her 5 Grammy's in one night! To this day, I still blast the album on my CD player's highest notch. One of my favorites from the album is the song "Ex-Factor". This song is so friggin true!

Ex-Factor - Lauryn Hill

I still hope that one day Lauryn will drop another album. Call me delirious but deep down inside, I feel the day will soon come when she will return.
