Video Premiere: Jeremih-Imma A Star (Everywhere You Are)

Here is the new video from Jeremih for his song "Imma A Star (Everywhere You Are)". The video is very modest and funny; kudos to Jeremih for having a sense of humor.

I'm not so much of a fan of the song. It has it's high points but it doesn't really compare to the success of "Birthday Sex". Is it me or does he sound a little like The Dream?

Video Rating: A yummy B.

Jeremih serenades with a cover of "Ribbon In The Sky"

Jeremih recently had a session with RAWsessions where he sang a cover of Stevie Wonders classic "Ribbon In The Sky".

I have been waiting to hear him sing in his natural state from the time I heard "Birthday Sex"; I felt the song had a lot of synthesizers in it so I couldn't quite grasp what he brought to the table vocally.

I am a HUGE fan of Stevie Wonder from what seems like birth (a real fan, the kind that knows every word down to the ad-libs in every song), so I am very critical of any and everyone who dare try to cover his songs, but I will say that Jeremih carried it well.

He didn't blow it out of the water, the only person that can do that is Stevie himself, but he held it down. He has a very 90's inspired sound kind of like Boys II Men and a Tevin Campbell type voice that is light yet penetrating.

What I didn't realize was how handsome Jeremih is, very nice.

TV Apperances: Jermih on 106th and Park...are we still mad at lightskin video girls?!

Jeremih recently stopped by 106th and Park to talk about his album and his brand new video for his song "Birthday Sex". He even goes on to address the whole "why did he use a light girl in his video" rants; are we seriously still on this?! Anyway, he said that the girl was Brazilian if that makes it any better for y'all.

My question is, when did it become a prize to be a video girl in videos? I mean, not to knock the pretty ladies that pose as gorgeous assets to the rappers and singers or their labels that hire them (because truth be told if it weren't for them, those who are superficial wouldn't pay the artist's videos any mind). Maybe there aren't darker skin girls in these videos because they have better things to do with their lives and careers (again no offense to video models) and would much rather use their brains and personalities instead of their beauty and body to get by in life.

Obviously, there is a trend in the entertainment industry where there is a certain standard to be the gem or leading lady of anything for promotional use, so why is it that a lot of us still get surprised when we don't see women that look like us in them? Y'all already know. You do understand that if it bothers you so much that there are not that many dark women on camera that you can become a producer, director, etc. or you could of course turn the TV off?

If you are concerned about how this will appeal to your dark skin princess than you need to make it a priority to minimize her time in front of the same TV set that is polluting her mind and tell her from your own lips that she is a princess and will soon become a queen. A little off topic, I know, but it irks me when we continue to rehash old habits that you know fail to die. Don't rely on the media to reaffirm your beauty folks you will find yourself disappointed

Besides, in personal opinion, the video wasn't all that anyway. His tattoo was the biz though!

Video Premiere: Jeremiah-Birthday Sex

Here is the new video from Jeremih for his song "Birthday Sex".

The video isn't much to write home about but keep in mind that it is his first. When I first heard "Birthday Sex" I liked it for about 2 seconds; but of course, thanks to the radio that plays it every day at 7:30 AM like clock work, I am exhausted with it.

Video Rating: A yummy B-.

Music Menu: Fabolous ft. The Dream-Throw It In The Bag

Listen to >>*Fabolous ft. The Dream-Throw It In The Bag*<<

Here is new music from Fabolous ft. The Dream "Throw It In The Bag". The way Fab was boasting about this track I was expecting a radio smasher. Can't help but to feel that this sounds familiar.

Speaking of Fabolous, he leaked another track featuring Jeremih (he is the crooner behind the song "Birthday Sex" ( I l.o.v.e. that song!) titled "It's My Time". Check it out. Jeremih's voice reminds me of Akon's.
