Video Premiere: Rihanna (feat. Drake) 'What's My Name'

Here is the new video from Rihanna for her song "What's My Name" that features Drake. This single is slated to appear on her forthcoming album Loud, due in stores November 16.

Drake and Rihanna play house in the video which takes place in New York with the final scene showing the Barbadian beauty in a forest jamming out with a band.

Doesn't Drake look thrilled to play Rihanna's beau even if it is just for one video shoot? If it's any consolation, they would make a cute couple.

Video Premiere: Drake (Feat. Lil Wayne) 'Miss Me'

Here is the new music video from Drake for his song "Miss Me" featuring Lil Wayne. "Miss Me" appears on Drake's album Thank Me Later in stores now.

The video was cool, pretty simple. I did like the way they incorporated Lil Wayne into the video without making it look cheesy.

It was actually one of the most creative ways a video has included an artist that is behind bars. Usually they would just get a lookalike, cast a shadow on them and have them recite the artist's lyrics, but this was different and definitely did the video justice.

[NEWS] Drake Has Begun Recording His Second Album

What do you do when you are an artist that just released your highly anticipated first album that goes on to sit at the top spot in its first week? If you answered sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor, you my friend are considered lazy in comparison to Drake.

The Canadian rapper announced via his Twitter that he has already begun work on his sophomore effort.

"Started my new album last night too…ok I’m done…" he wrote. "Miss me video tmrw at 9am…tipsy…maybe? naaaaaaah….maybe tho." {Source}

I personally can admire a hard working artist. I just hope that the album holds a bunch of gems and not just one or two.

A lot of artists are under the impression that if they continue to release material back-to-back, that they will be good and relevant but sometimes they fail to make sure the material is any good which makes it even worse than not releasing material at all. Hopefully, this won't be the case for Drake.

Drake Moves 463K Copies Of 'Thank Me Later' In First Week

The numbers are in for Drake's debut LP Thank Me Later. Many predicted that Drake would go gold in his first week while others took it a step further and said that he would go Platinum.

Well, *drum roll* Drake has moved 463,000 units of Thank Me Later landing him in the number one spot on this week's Hits charts.

Billboard hasn't released their chart positions yet so we'll have to wait and see where he rates on theirs.

NEWS // Drake's 'Thank Me Later' Set To Debut At #1, Projected To Sell 450k+

In a rather bleak music industry where $.99 singles seem a lot more appealing than $9.99 albums, it appears that Drake's highly anticipated LP Thank Me Later will make its debut in the top spot.

According to Hits Daily Double, Thank Me Later is projected to sell 450-470k in its first week.

Though it stops just short of going gold, a lot can happen between now and next week.

I still haven't gotten a chance to hear the album but I've heard some good things about it as well as some bad, so I'll reserve judgment until I get my hands on it.

Meanwhile, Drake has released a statement to AllHipHop.com regarding the near riot that broke out in NYC last night after a concert that he was to headline was canceled due to "an unruly crowd."

In Drake's words,

"I am humbled by the crowd that showed up in support of my performance and the release of Thank Me Later. I love performing for my fans but unfortunately the show was canceled by the NYPD due to over crowding, leaving me without the chance to give my fans a real show." {Source}

Drake is feeling on top of the world right now and is excited about the release of his debut LP . He's finally released his highly anticipated album Thank Me Later and according to some of the reviews, Drake is bringing something new to the table for consumption.

Remember those rumors that were circulating around about Drake and Rihanna having a little something, something going on with one another? Well, it turned out to be true and Drake is talking about their fling with the New York Times.

Drake Ought To Stay Out Of The Nicki Minaj/Lil Kim Beef...

I was browsing MTV.com and stumbled upon a video of Drake discussing the new female "beef" (notice the quotations) of the moment, Nicki Minaj vs. Lil Kim.

Granted this time around, he was asked about his thoughts regarding the little quarrel between the two female faces of Hip-Hop, I still couldn't help but to get a little annoyed with his involvement.

Earlier, this month a video of Nicki Minaj and Drake performing in concert surfaced and on it Drake was heard addressing the beef. Of course he kept it respectful and that was cool and maybe it was done to get his name rolling off tongues, but whatever the case was, it really isn't necessary for him to address it especially with him being the new cat in the litter box.

Drake spoke with MTV about the "beef" and had this to say...

"I feel like Lil' Kim is a G in the game. I feel like you're a part of an era that's classic, that we'll never forget as young kids, me and Nick," he said of his Young Money family member. "You don't have to do that. You don't have to get onstage and tell people to pay homage; that's a given. I've watched Nicki pay homage time and time again. I didn't respect [Kim's comments] at all. Whoever else was onstage with her, I didn't respect that at all. You just wearing your heart on your sleeve. You're showing that you're upset. Nobody's done that to me yet. I would never expect Jay or 'Ye to get onstage and be like, 'Pay homage to me. You need to respect me.' They know they command my respect with their music and talent. I feel that's signs you're just losing it. I really did take that personally. That bothered me. I really don't get caught up with the Twitter and Internet stuff, but I did see it. And I feel like you're supposed to be a G. That just wasn't G to me at all."

I say let the ladies handle this on their own. It looks a bit wack for a gentleman to be involved in female drama.That last comment goes for Ray J as well...

Obviously, Nicki is not interested in playing this diss game with Lil Kim so why be the one? She appears to be able to fight her own battles so why fight them for her? I'm all for caring for the underdog, but like Power 105.1's Ed Lover said "I don't even fight for my sister, she can fight her own fights."

Plus, doesn't Drake have his own negative comments directed at him from other rappers to ward off?

Who's Behind Drake's 'Thank Me Later' Leak?

Word around the web is that Drake's debut LP Thank Me Later has hit the faucet, 14 days before it's official release.

Apparently, the album leaked last night (June 1) and if you let Twitter tell it, the album is hot. The naughty kid in me went searching for the leaked material like a gold digger for an NBA player and came up empty handed...not for long I'm sure.

If you're wondering how Drake feels about this, he seems to be OK with the leak. He explained that he "gave away free music for years. So we’re good over here. Just allow it to be the soundtrack to your summer and ENJOY! JUNE 15th!"

He sounds confident that the album will still move units despite the leak.

If Thank Me Later is hot (I'm talking epic classic) and his following is as loyal as they claim to be, Drake's sales will speak for itself.

In my day *sits in 90's rocking chair*, there were album bootleggers on every street corner offering up albums at an affordable price and artists still were able to go platinum.

This is but a simple bump in the road. Success rules all...

What Would Jamaica's Minister Of Tourism Have To Say About Drake's Video For 'Find Your Love' Now?

Following the release of Drake's video for his song "Find Your Love," the Canadian actor turned rapper was called out on the storyline for the video. One particular person that was vocal about Drake's video was Jamaica's Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett.

Edmund believed that the video for "Find Your Love" portrayed Jamaica in a negative light -  what with the kidnapping and the did-she-or-did-she-not shooting scene.

There's Hope For Drake After All

To those of you who have been down with Drake since day one, the thought that is probably floating in your talk bubble right now is “when did Drake fall off for there to be hope for him?” Well, lately Drake has not been doing it for most fans, preferably Hip-Hop fans, and was starting to become like a stale Ritz cracker with molded cheese on top. Many people were starting to think that he was nothing more than just hype.

Here is a new video from Drake for his song "Find Your Heart" off of his forthcoming album Thank Me Later which is scheduled for release on June 15.

The storyline for the video is set in Jamaica and does the job of drawing the viewer in while finishing the story the song begins.

I don't care to hear Drake sing, in fact I really prefer if he didn't; but the hook to "Find Your Heart" is very catchy which makes the song tolerable.

The video is very interesting though I don't see how it is relevant to the song...then again what video is.

Am I wrong for wishing that Drake would stop singing in his songs? If loving a rapper that doesn't sing is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Popcorn Moments: Drake's Humble Beginnings

Drake has never really come off as the quintessential Hip-Hop artists. For me he made that very clear when he admitted to not freestyling but opting to write then recites his lyrics.

When Drake was just Aubrey, an actor that starred in the teen show Degrassi, he lived at home with his mother, drove and Acura, and snuck chocolate to his granny.

So cute.

He even introduced viewers to his Hip-Hop collection and a collage he assembled under a glass table of artists that he would eventually work with.

It's crazy how things happen.

Video Premiere: Drake ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem-Forever

Here is the new video from Drake for his song "Forever" that features Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. The song is slated to appear on the More Than A Game movie soundtrack that is scheduled for release September 29th.

I love this song. I personally find myself waiting patiently for Eminem's part to come up because in my opinion it's the best verse in the song. The video isn't anything special which is cool because the song has enough pizazz as is.

I actually just got my hands on the soundtrack for More Than A Game earlier today. I haven't listened to it yet but judging by the list of heavy hitters on the album's credits (Mary J Blige, Jay-Z, and Chris Brown to name a few) the album might just be as good as the movie.

More Than a Game opens in NY, LA, Cleveland, and Akron on Friday, October 2nd.

Here is new music from Drake titled "Fear" off of his mixtape So Far Gone.




I like the song. A lot of people are saying that Drake is overrated and I'm trying to figure out if I'm being a little bit of a softy because he's a new artist or if they are just jealous at his quick come up.

I think he has an original sound, his voice is ideal on a track. He does, however, remind me too much of Kanye and I think we only have room for one Kanye; the rest of the room is taken up by his ego, he's super talented so we can accommodate it.

I myself will wait until Drake releases his LP to make my final judgement. Until then, he's fun to have around.

I like the video it's very laid back allowing us to get the full message of the song. I wouldn't mind seeing a collaborative album from Drake and Trey Songz, they seem to mesh well.

Video Premiere: Mary J. Blige-The One

Here is the new video from Mary J. Blige for her song "The One" featuring Drake that is set to appear on her album Stronger. Stronger is scheduled for a November release.

Ms. Blige is giving all types of chic and attitude in this video. She is sporting a new haircut that yells I'm in charge, so move aside. I love the color effects and dated robotic moves, very retro.

I just have one question, is Drake Hip-Hop's superman? How on earth is he landing on tracks with the heavy weights in Hip-Hop and R&B?

I know that he's the protege of Lil Wayne but does Wayne hold that much weight in the industry to get Drake in good with folks? Whatever the case may be, someone needs to hand Drake Beyonce's Chinese money fan from her "Diva" video because the man is hot. Just based off of the features he has under his belt, he is making a name for himself and he hasn't even dropped an LP yet! I am going to have to conduct a full on investigation on this matter because this is just baffling to me...I guess he just got it like that.

Here is the new video from Jamie Foxx featuring Drake, The Dream, and Kanye West.

As much as I try not to care for the song, the beat is too hard to ignore I think I may even love it. Plus, Kanye killed his verse and Drake held it down. I just wish Jamie would jump off of the plug-in, he definitely does not need it.

I was totally watching Degrassi earlier this morning on MTV, how ironic! This is supposed to be the directors cut of Drake's video for his song "Best I Ever Had" but I doubt this will make the fans any happier.

Drake was under fire when he decided to release this video of pretty ladies serving T&A for days, though it may have sat well with the horny male population the ladies were not feeling it much.

I personally thought the video had some comedic elements to it thus making it a pinch entertaining but I have to agree, sometimes there is a such thing as too much boobs....

I know fellas, shocking.

Was I the only one looking for the girl chilling with a hair tie with no make-up on?!

Apparently that was the initial idea from jump street but Drake thought he was taking the video a little too serious and placed the direction in Kanye West's hands to come up with the blueprint for the video, not wise.

Not saying that Kanye isn't great at directing videos, sometimes even he doesn't know his limit.

Drake needs to take his career in his own hands, it's gotten him far just handling ish himself. It wasn't his idea to have Lil Wayne and his daughters friends on stage jamming to "Every Girl" and yet it kind of tarnished his fan appeal. Drake from me to you, please come and get your career and just do you. Just because they have been in the business longer does not mean they know more than you.
