The movie will be based on the Hasbro's classic naval combat game Battleship.
There is no word on what her role will be but I'm guessing it will be one that will show off her femme fatale personality.
The only other movie Rihanna has starred in was Bring It On: All Or Nothing alongside Solange Knowles. In said movie, Rihanna acted as herself so her new role in Battleship will allow her to show us what she has to offer in a scripted role.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters May 2012.
