I am truly disgusted by the media outlets that are running with the story that Wyclef and his charity are misappropriating funds. This man has taken time out of his life, removed himself from the comfort of his home (where many other celebrities are still kicking their feet up sending tweets about donating) to go and help a country where he was birthed and raised.
At the press conference,Wyclef speaks about helping to clear the streets of dead bodies and how the country's morgue is filled to capacity resulting in the deceased being placed in graves without identification.
You would think that he would get a little more recognition and respect for his selfless act. instead he has to take the time and effort it would take to better the city that is still recovering from yet another natural disaster, to tend to malicious and childish rumors that could have been killed upon impact instead of copied and pasted by other blogs that obviously lack morals and salivate at useless drama... I really can't.
At times I really wish there were limitations on who can have internet access.
Please continue to have Haiti and it's citizens in your prayers. Sending positive energy and vibes there way is the best and free of charge thing to do. And of course make sure to donate to Wyclef's Yele Haiti by texting "Yele" to 501501. $5 will be charged to your phone bill as your donation.
Though this may be a tragic event, this might be the phoenix rising from the ashes in the end helping to bring Haiti to a better place.
I can't wait to see Haiti become the beautiful country it deserves to be.
