New Music: Monica Gives Her 'Everything'

Here is new music from Monica titled "Everything" off of her newest effort Still Standing that is scheduled for release in March of this year. Get an earful after the jump.




I heard this track on one of the episodes of her BET reality show and instantly fell in love with the short snippet. I was hoping that she would release this track because it's one of those classic hit records that only come around once in a blue moon; and mainly because it was such a strong and original sound that had a touch of vintage style.

Monica mentioned that she was hesitant in releasing the song because she felt it sounded old, probably because it sample's Deniece Williams' 1980's single titled "Silly." I have to disagree with her claim and also add that the most simplist singles that borrow from the classic sounds always do well. Though music styles tend to change over time the classic sounds are always welcomed no matter what the generation.

I'm actually really excited about this album now.
