In reference to why her first movie Glitter flopped....
"That movie was released on September 11th, 2001 – could there be a worse day for that movie to come out? I don’t think so,” she said. “I don’t even know that many people even saw the movie so I don’t think it’s the worst thing ever done....Glitter was a learning experience and I wouldn’t do it again if you paid me. But I didn’t have representation or anyone to tell me: ‘What you need is a great director’."Most definitely, on that day a lot of people were not looking to catch a flick but blaming the heated mess that was Glitter on a tragic event is pretty low, no?
The film could have been released on Valentine's Day and it still would not have done well because it was a bad movie. Furthermore, the director is not the reason why you didn't fit the the mold of the character you played, which ironically enough was the role of singer. No worries, I'm sure the new movie "Precious" will make up for it.
