M.Y. Manic Monday Relief: The Color Purple

Let me just start off by saying that this is one of my favorite movies of all time. If I were summoned to a deserted island (if the island even had a DVD player or VCR for that matter) I would have to pack this movie to survive, that's how serious it is.

With that said, every time I see this scene of Shug Avery finally making amends with her father by way of showing him that you can do your wrong and still have the lord in your heart (I guess) by way of music, always brings a tear to my eye. This is one of the most powerful scenes in the movie without a doubt.
