It's looking like The Dream day on M.Y.
I wish I could say that I was surprised to hear that. J.Holiday stopped by the Ed Lover Show this morning and spoke about his new album, his new found singledom, and his problem with The Dream.
On the show this morning, J. Holiday revealed that his problem with The Dream started because The Dream thought he was the ish when he wasn't and his personality wasn't so welcoming (my summation of course) when it came to working in the studio. He also went on to say that The Dream has been going around telling folks that he made J.Holiday.
If you don't already know, The Dream penned "Bed" and "Suffocate" which appeared on J. Holiday's first album Back Of My Lac and they went on to be hits. With that said, just because you write a song for someone and it goes on to be a hit does not mean you made them.
Yes you helped contribute to their success but had it not been for their voice, the way they delivered your written lyrics, or their appeal to the fans your song wouldn't be worth a damn. Besides, whatever happened to being modest?
Granted, The Dream is an excellent songwriter, homeboy is way too full of himself for him to tell somebody he made them..geez.
I guess we can forget about Holiday ever working with The Dream again.
J. Holiday's album Round 2 is in stores now.
