The wonderful Ms. Voletta Wallace did an interview with amNY that appeared in the free newspaper today where she gives her opinion on the upcoming biopic about her son Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace. Ms. Wallace had this to say about the film,
This is a very good movie. Was I proud? I wouldn't use that word. I am very glad that I did the movie. I have no regrets. I wanted to see what others never saw and I never knew. Source
When asked about the sudden change in Biggie's behavior from a "considerate genorous young man" to an armed drug-dealer she said,
To be honest with you, I saw a monster that night. Do I love the monster? No, but I love my son. My love is still here for my son. But his behavior? Thank God he's not here because I would slap the daylights out of him. Source
Angela Bassett is set to play Voletta in the film and she [Voletta] will have her very first producer credit. Its like I said, I feel the casting could have been better but I am excited to see how the film turns out.
Side Bar: I felt her statement when she said if Big was here she would slap the daylights out of him...she looks like she could give a mean slap that will knock the cry and sound right out of a person *shutters at the thought* but I so feel her. I love me some Voletta she keeps it real :-).
